Cadbury are making a calm that they know to be false, Scarborough Fair chocolate has been fair trade certified for a lot longer than Cadbury and the Scarborough Fair tastes better.

If you want a great tasting 100% (read the labels!) Fairtrade chocolate then you can't go past Scarborough Fair. Cadbury is just playing with Fairtrade.

This is rediculous; Cadbury appear to now be trying to minimise the negative publicity regarding palm oil and offshore manufacturing by suggesting they are the the first brand in NZ to recieve 'Fair Trade' certification. Wake up Cadbury. You have ONE product which could be considered 'Fair Trade' and you certainly were NOT first. Scarborough Fair are true 'Fair Trade' products and taste fantastic.

Not a lot of options to chose. Was this supposed to be an independant poll??

    Nice try Cadbury.......

    Scarborough Fair gets my vote

Cadbury's chocolate used to be my fave, but it just tastes wrong now. :( Proper, high-quality chocolate wins every time and has a much better chance of being ethically produced.

Cadbury first for FT?? Yeah right! Is this the sort of influence that Kraft has stretching the truth?

Love that Scarborough Fair Chocolate, have a box of the stuff at home

Totally agree with you there Lester.. Pfft Fair Trade, who cares about the quality of life for fellow human beings in developing countries - as long as the product tastes good.

    How ignorant.

Thank god for brands with a social conscience like Scarborough Fair. The world would be a very sad place if it was only made up of types like yourself.

What a stupid poll. only someone from Cadbury would dream up something so leading and daft!

Anyone with half a brain knows that Cadbury were not the first Chocolate brand to receive Fair Trade certification in NZ. Not to mention that they don't offer Fair Trade certification on their whole product range (I actually have a feeling it might only be on one bar).

While on the topic of Cadbury, their chocolate bars are getting smaller, but more expensive, but I guess that's what you get when you're owned by a large multinational.

    Whitakers Chocolate gets my vote

Fair Trade. I've heard of that. Something to do with the US? Anyway, chocolate. Fairs fair. What about the gorillas. Aren't they being killed by discarded wrappers? Ah, no, that's seagulls and plastic beer can packaging. Maybe it was the bird flu, or the pig, or way back when humans first slept with monkeys. I just don't know any more. So confused. I buy what tastes good. And if a few gorillas die in the process, then that's a shame, but I don't care. Long live trade. If you don't like it, live on cabbage. No one dies growing cabbages.

Only Scarborough Fair has this accreditation! Cadbury sucks!

  • Roxanne - 14 years ago

Cadbury only have one Fairtrade certified product and Scarborough Fair is 100% Fairtrade in all their products.

Cadbury tastes disgusting these days lol fair trade or not, I'll never buy Cadbury

It's a shame that 90% of people think that Cadbury Dairy Milk was the first chocolate brand to recieve the Fairtrade Certification when in actual fact is at least NEW ZEALAND brand (Cadbury is a Multination - now owned by Kraft from the USA) that recieved it years ago Scarborough Fair (www.scarboroughfairfoods.com). All Scarborough Fair products are Fairtrade, ulike Cadbury, where it's just the Dairy Milk that is Fairtrade certified. All the other products are still made from non-certified cocoa!
