Oh and Favorites. Not as important as above, just a 'nice to have'

The API, Upload Desktop Client, Drag/Drop , and Slideshow options stand out most for me

the ability to batch process things like tags and descriptions so we can do ALL fotos recently uploaded instead one by slow one... and the ability to place pix.ie or 3rd party web counter (w/stats pleeeze). lastly, what about the ability to use one's own uploaded copyright that gets embedded into each uploaded foto? thanks for the hard work. y'all on holidays? take care

It'd be great if you pulled the meta tags from the images rather than/as well as the in house tagging system. This way the tags that I attach to my images on lightroom could appear in the list of tags.

    Opera compatability would be great.

a few more profile themes would be cool !!! maybe - some ideas :
    beach theme with waves breaking
    planets theme
    solid blue coloured theme
    solid black coloured theme
    etc.

Super to be able to vote on features. Looking forward to seeing pix.ie evolve.

    ordering prints?
maybe a link with snapfish or someone.
I seem to have to upload my photos twice, once to share & once to print?
Or am I missing something obvious?

I would like to see an option for your email notifications to be similar to boards. The notification not only shows the link to the comment (on your or somebody else's pic), it also shows the new comment. I find this especially handy when having a quick peek and it means you don't neccessarily have to open every single link to check the comments.

If you have some facility to import from Flickr then I can start to use Pix.ie as my preferred online photo gallery. I have over 1250 shots on flickr and it would be a pain to manually move them to pix.ie.

Thanks for asking for the input btw, its nice to see this rather than having features imposed on you like our friends on the other site above like to do.

Pix is a great sight, I find it very handy to use. And you have a great list of possible upgrades.
For me I'm interested in more control over the Albums, being able to swap and reorganize them a little.
Image protection is always a big one. And perhaps access to some EXIF data would be interesting.

    Thanks again!

How about a "Rate My Piccy" which would submit one of my pictures to a group/stream for peer review/voting? I've got lots of crap, so no one looks at my profile, but from time to time I'd like feedback about a particular picture

How about an eCommerce element - a buy from pix.ie as it were. Obviously only for your own prints but to opt to make available for general sale via pix.ie something like fotomoto? profit share / etc....

    More stats!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Top 10 most hits!!!

  • Lads would it be possible to see what people have replied in the body of the email. As in if someone comments on my photo i can see their comment in my email.

Kyle: Not sure about other email clients but gmail groups similar emails into the same one email. So if you get say 10 comments on a photo, rather than sending you a new email it'll update the previous one. Very handy

Looking forward to some of these updates particularly the easy upload and replacing photos. There has been so many cases in the past where I've wanted to replace a photo with an edited version.

Great stuff so far guys. I'd love to see less emails in my inbox about an image. If ten people comment on a shot I want to get one email, not ten. Also better tagging and locked prev/next buttons would be nice.

Looking forward to seeing your updates :)

I'm with Affke.. Not the most technical person... and love the familiarity created here on pix.ie
Pretty happy with things as they are though I have to say :-)

  • I'd really really really like an iphone application, I would like a C&C area but not on top of the list. I 'd love to be able to find groups on pix.ie but never can. Am i missing something?

  • cgarvey - 16 years ago

API is the biggie for me.

  • Keith G - 16 years ago

A simple, non cluttered discussion area would be good. Similar to Flickr's group discussion areas.

  • aafke - 16 years ago

an extra wish to this already long wishlist? yes, please prevent making the site too geeky.
i'm not ashamed to say that lots of technical issues are beyond my comprehension and i'm sure i'm not the only non-geek around here

A lot of really good suggestions there. Particularly like the drag/drop idea. Private Messaging would be a nice little addition too I feel.

  • pullandbang - 16 years ago

That's a lot of suggestions. Any of them would be an improvement on what's already a pretty decent site.

  • James Gallagher - 16 years ago

Open the API access up and people will build the tools. If it means being a subscriber then fine - I already to subscribe to Flickr so have no issue paying for service.

  • Richard - 16 years ago

Nice to see the list of options. It would have been nice to see a symbian app in there, but maybe if the API opens up that might be a project for someone!

Please make a verison of any blog/emedding widgets that are as free of cruft and extra divs as possible - just a simple ist of images will do, I can add styles and padding myself! thanks! (it's an awful pain to strip out the default padding and formatting)
