Well because she has a lot of fans from South Georgia who have heard her sing in person. She is not a bad singer. She is professionally trained, and has actually performed opening for some pretty big names, but she didn't name drop or anything like that for the contest... She use a wii to record herself in her living room... Didn't use a sound system like half of the others... And because of that had some problems with the echo... SHE IS AN AMAZING SINGER WITH AN ENTIRE AREA OF GEORGIA ROOTING FOR HER AND A HUGE FAMILY VOTING WITH THOSE FANS AND FRIENDS.. SO HATER, SHE IS GOING TO WIN!!!

Katherine most definitely! Her voice is awesome and love hearing her sing The National Anthem everytime we go to a Carolina Hurricanes game. It is not the same without her. Also notice that she is the only one who places her hand over her heart when she sings. The person who sings the Anthem is not supposed to be excluded from doing this. She takes pride in what she is signing and it is a honor for her to do so.
