  What about gears 3 and a late entry but still deserves a chance star wars the old Republic?

  Skyrim really does deserve it. I liked BF3 but there are so many shooters out there and hardly any good open world RPGs. Not to mention the sheer size of the game. Portal 2 was fun too but it felt like more of the same. I never really liked any Modern Warfare game so to me 3 looks a hell of allot like 2 with extra stuff. So I really don't mind it not making the cut. I wish I could have experienced Uncharted 3 but I don't own a PS3. I got one on the way but it won't be here till the 3rd. So I won't get to play it on time.

  Skyrim and Skyword Sword were the only games that came out this year that fully lived up to my expectations.BF3 took too much after Cod set pieces and lost it's mojo.Portal 2 was fun but didn't feel as enlivening as the first,and I didn't play Deus Ex,Dark Souls,or Uncharted.

  I still think Minecraft should have been on this list, but, I'll take my number 2, Skyrim....just thought I would add this little note....Kados

  Most are great games, but with all due respect, skyrim deserves it the most. Regardless of its buggyness, its ambition and all the hard work that's been put into it really reach out high on my list. I liked portal 2, but it felt too repetitive and more like valve reaching for my pocket, rather than my contentment. Battlefield 3 is awesome aswell, but I'm not too fond of shooters anymore, they're past their prime.
