I am a web developer. I/We test sites in all major browsers including Safari, Chrome, Firefox, IE 7-10, Opera, Mobile Safari, Android Browser, etc. I have found Safari and Chrome to be the best browsers for rendering webpages correctly due to the fact that they use the WebKit rendering engine. It's incredibly fast and accurate. The developer tools are FAR superior to any other browsers dev tools including Firebug (FF Ext). Out of Safari and Chrome, I personally choose Safari. Many complain it eats a lot of memory but I have not experienced a shortage :) Chrome is a great browser as well...on par with Safari. As far as speed goes, both render at very similar speeds due to the fact that they both use the same engine. That's my $0.02.

I use Chrome for pretty much everything, as I like the web design extensions. I keep Safari as my clean browser for troubleshooting bugs because it's reliable.

I have used Chrome primarily for quite some time now. Recently though, I've been swapping back and fourth between Chrome and Safari pretty much evenly, so I'd say I use both. Still I've used Chrome much more in my life than Safari. I'm an ex Firefox diehard that wants to bash my head into my desk every time I use any of the recent Firefox builds.
@The Doctor I think that the chrome extension really make the difference for me when it comes to a battle between Chrome and Safari. I also wish that Safari had a "pin tab" like feature built in.

Can anyone really explain to me what is really wrong with Safari, or what is preferable about Chrome over Safari for Mac users? Because, from my end, Safari is so much better integrated to my Macintosh.
Screw Firefox, and i like Chrome, but I absolutely love Safari.

I was using Firefox at both work and home for about 8 years but since then it has become really laggy and unresponsive for me. Started using Chrome exclusively a while back and haven't looked back since. The only issue I have with it is that a lot of the extensions are merely wrappers of a website. They're pretty much pointless. I use it primarily because it's much faster and lightweight for me.

I've been using Firefox since it came out around 2004, on both my PC and Mac. But recently I've started to like Chrome better because FF has just become slow and lagging, crashes a lot, etc. The only reason I haven't fully switched over is because of some of FF's extensions, but Chrome seems to be catching up there and I'm probably going to switch to Chrome for good pretty soon.
I used to use safari when I was new to the Mac, then switched to Firefox. Loved it but overtime it seemed to slow down and get caught up on lots of little rendering things. Then I tried chrome, and while some of the extensions aren't as good, the browser itself feels much faster and cleaner.
