Everyone benefits from increased transit usage. Fewer cars on the road mean less air pollution, easier breathing, lower greenhouse gas emissions, less parking in congested areas, and easier commutes for drivers. Win-win-win-win.

Without the necessary infrastructure our economy cannot possibly flourish. It is time we take infrastructure and energy issues seriously if we wish to maintain/grow our standard of living.
