Should Connecticut ban genetically modified grass seeds?
Yes. There is, as Senate President Don Williams said, “an arms race of toxic chemicals.” Connecticut is right to refuse to engage in it.
No. If the federal government doesn’t think the genetically modified grass needs regulating, why should Connecticut be the first state to ban it?
Yes. There are simply too many questions about the effect of such a genetically modified plant on natural ecosystems.
No. Humans have been engaging in genetic modification of plants for millenniums. So far it has improved the food supply and kept billions from starving. The grass seeds won’t hurt anyone.
