Level 4 = grade C. Subjects are nowhere near equal in terms of what students need to do to reach the same level! In MFL you can't get a level 5 until you do two tenses and give opinions - far harder than say. History where level 6 is doing a bit of independent research etc. Focus has already shifted - we have to look at levels of progress from starting point now not 5 A-Cs. What about the point system rather than grades?

There is more to education than just academics . We all have different talents which help make the world go around . Balance is key . Every child has a value no matter if they are academic or not . A levels need to reflect a strong understanding in a variety of subjects they shouldn't be limited to core subjects only but also Btec have their place here too as we all have different learning needs .

All subjects have value. We are all different and trying to put square pegs into round holes is cruel and unproductive ultimately
