How did medical workers and others who came in contact with Garnett Spears - mandatory reporters trained to detect abuse - miss the warning signs?

The medical community didn’t do their job. They all should face sanctions.

Everything happened so fast at the end; everyone wants to believe a mother would protect her child. I’ve been fooled before by bad people.

There’s no reason to jump to conclusions. But a close examination is needed to determine whether the health professionals met their obligations.

If this was happening over years, I am sure one nurse or doctor had his or her suspicions over the years.. And it may or may not have been reported. It may have been investigated at the time and deemed unnecessary cause for concern. It is a tragic death and of course it is heartbreaking to all involved. Of course the media are going to sensationalize it and make it seem the healthcare community's fault. People need to remember that doctors and nurses are human too-- we can't save everyone-- no matter how much we want to. I hope this poor family finds peace soon.

This girl was not a mother, but aomster. I hope she gets everything coming to her. It kills me to think that that child was hurt so badly and by someone he was supposed to be able to trust more than anyone else. Hope she rots in hell.
