What’s a trip across the New NY Bridge worth to you?

I have been traveling over the Tappan Zee Bridge when it was $3.00 plus the Yonkers toll at 50 cent. Now I pay $5.00 plus $1.25 at the Yonkers toll. I often travel over that bridge more than five times a week. Now you want me to pay more? What happened to the money to keep the bridge in good condition? What happened to the money you've collected from E-Z Pass? All the drivers got for their money was lane closures, bad road conditions on the bridge, tollbooth closures, etc. Some people are on a fixed budget when it comes to traveling to work and now you want to raise the toll for a new bridge? A bridge that was paid for years ago. Your politics is draining the people dry. You politicians can find the money elsewhere without turning to the citizens of Rockland Country to foot the bill.

I have been commuting across the Tappen Zee for 30 years. As I near retirement, a mass transit feature connecting to rail service will not serve to benefit me directly, but would have served to open up the economic development of the lower Hudson Valley. It is unfortunate in the move to political expediency a rail line was dropped. "If Disney can create a monorail in its park system ,you would think our State government could have the foresight to do so ." A rail connection would enable younger folks to work in the City but live in Rockland & Orange counties as well as encouraging businesses to locate as well. So why not dedicate the $ 3.5 billion in fines/settlement that NY collected from financial institutions toward accomplishing this goal as opposed to spending these funds for services that will require recurring dollars beyond the available pool!
Instead we constantly read about the politicizing of how much tolls will be on the Tappen Zee! Where is our next Robert Moses!!!
