Amigos Amigos Amigos!!! The most consistent restaurant ever. Yes, they are Americanized but you can still get the real deal if you're looking for that. Perches is pretty great, I'll admit...but Amigos pleasures my palate more than anything!!!

Mexican villa isn't Mexican food, and the others listed are mediocre at best. Tortillaria Perches is the best authentic Mexican food in town and has been here for a decade, if you aren't talking authentic, El Puente still blows the rest of this list out of the water.

Who was in charge of the 3=4 restaurants listed as choices. There are better places than the ones listed.

We like Tortilleria Perches. I've eaten at Purple Burrito a few times and like it. Sometimes we go to Willard for El Venero. I had my first taste of "Mexican" food at Mexican Villa. Still like the cheese enchiladas there on occasion but my husband can't stand it.

@Infektedpc - Grad School has a really good burger called 'The Full Ride'. Personally, I think that it is the best burger in town. Outside of that, it is pretty slim pickings. I've heard that Louie's Drive In on W. Division is actually pretty good, but I've not been there to confirm.

As for Cielito Lindo's, it is my personal opinion that it is only about 1 or maybe 2 steps up from Mexican Villa.

El Charro isn't too bad, but I think it's in the same tier as La Hacienda and that isn't actually saying a whole lot. Probably only the next tier up from Cielito Lindo's.

For Southern California style Mexican Food, Purple Burrito is solid, I agree. But their menu is pretty limited by comparison.

The truth is that this town just doesn't have any great Mexican food restaurants.

    I love Purple Burrito.

Going to have to agree with the comment above Mexican Villa is horrible.
If you want good Mexican food try Purple Burrito that places is the bomb.
None of these places listed in the Poll are worth a damn except maybe Cielito Lindo and that's because i haven't tried it yet. The rest of these places i wouldn't even consider real Mexican food.
Why does everything in Springfield have to be Springfield Style Food which is just Super White Boy Food.
Like Springfield's cashew chicken is just freaking brown gravy and adding cashews doesn't suddenly make it Chinese food.
This even goes for some of the freaking pizza places and sub shops out here as well.
Also can anyone for the life of them recommend a decent burger joint?
    TL;DR Springfield Style Food Blows

I honestly do not get native Springfieldians obsession with Mexican Villa. It has got to be some of the worst food (not just Mexican food) that I have ever had. It is the only restaurant that I have gone to where I was actually mad that I had to pay for the meal. I of course did, but it was so awful. I just do not get it.
