Hi, Nana aba here. Jim! Hi! The 20 are chosen by our senior programmers. The songs are on our high rotation list, and when the senior programmers say a song is off that list, I can't leave it on the voting poll for very long. The sales are digital downloads. And I do have an agenda -- to play good music! Chris D, if you want to submit a song to be on the Top 20, it's first got to make it through the senior programmers. So I'd suggest you send your picks to Julian.Tuck@cbc.ca. Thanks for caring so much folks! Hope that helps.

Are suggestions made here actually taken into consideration for programming purposes? I'm just curious.
Here are a couple of current release suggestions for the playlist...both great songs and fit the R2-20 vibe.
Trap Door- Stars
Dearly Departed- Shakey Graves
Jim Oleary: I asked that question before, and I believe the answer was that they give each song a reasonable window of chart time (can't remember the answer I was given but let's say hypothetically 10 weeks). After that time is up, the song is dropped from the voting list regardless of how well the song performed the week before. I think the goal it to keep the chart fresh and allow as many acts access as possible. I think they could expand the voting list though by 5-10 songs easily. And even considering moving to a top 25 format.

How come, there is only 20 choices! Who chooses the 20! How is it possible for an artist in the top 5, totally disappears from the list. If it is based on sales, at least disclose that it does not include CD sales.
If you've got an agenda, tell us the details.
