The decision to throw at the goal-line was the most controversial play in Super Bowl XLIX. Was the interception the worst playcall in Super Bowl history?

Pete Carroll seems like a very nice guy. I'm pretty sure Pete was just being nice to Bill...

"Hey, we won last year, and your team hasn't won it in a while, so here you go! Enjoy!"

That being the case, it seems like he made the perfect call.

No other way to explain it, as far as I can tell.

I hope he remembered to apologize to Marshawn and the rest of his own team for this very thoughtful and generous gift he gave to Bill and the Patriots.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST PLAY CALL EVER, PERIOD. I jumped out of my seat when I saw them line up, and began screaming NO!!!!! NO!!!!!! DON'T PASS IT!!!!!!!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!?!?!?! .... and then came the fatal hike of the ball. The Pat's weren't even crowding the line, which should have been an indicator to Wilson to call an audible, despite the horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, play call by the offensive coordinator.

Sickening. Sickening. Sickening. There's no justifiable reason for doing that. That is not explainable. That is unforgivable. Hawks need to keep Pete. They can't just wash their hands of a man that's taken them from being an above average team to a two time Super Bowl contestant.

The Offensive Coordinator and Pete need to be made to sign a written agreement that would be a one paragraph contract.

I, Pete Carroll, do hereby swear under oath, promise, and otherwise affirm, that if I ever find my team in a situation where we must gain one (1) yard to either accomplish a first down, or score a touchdown, and we have three (3) downs to do so, I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, call a pass play; Rather, I shall call a run play, for I understand as a head coach, that in any given situation, to pass the ball brings inherent risks that cannot be controlled, mitigated, or otherwise nullified, and that to run the ball, I control our risks of a loss of possession to the greatest extent possible, and in doing so, I maximize our teams likelihood of successfully gaining one (1) freaking yard.

THEY NEED TO ADMINISTER AN IQ EXAM FOR HEAD COACHES AND COORDINATORS. This was football 101. Kids playing football video games know that you don't throw the ball when you're on the one (1) yard line.

You don't gamble, when you don't need to. (I want to use extremely foul language right now, but will refrain, just as Carroll should have refrained from calling that damn play.)

I'm going to buy a Seahawks flag, install a flag pole in my yard, hoist it up high, but upside down, until the Hawk's can show its 12th man, why it should be turned right side up. Seattle is in distress.

The Seahawks won that game. It was over. Its sad to walk away from a Super Bowl, knowing that the reason you lost, wasn't because you were really beaten, but because the leadership of your own team, committed Harry Carey.

I lost $1000 on that dumbass call...Pete, and that OC that, hopefully, will be fired and will NEVER get another job in the NFL, contact me if you want to make at least one thing right after that ridiculous call. I'm a girl and just a fan, but even I know that call should have NEVER been made. If you wanted just to waste a down, R-U-N the ball. This will definitely affect Pete's legacy, remember when he was coaching USC kept Reggie Bush on the bench, didn't have faith in him being about to get 2 yards and they lost???!!! DEJA VU!!!! And why does Tom Brady get the MVP when he had to have a QB rating in the 50s. He had 2 INT's.....

With one of the best running backs in the league, you do NOT call a pass play on the goal line. Even if he falls down when hit he could score by spinning around. The coaches could say all day long it was their fault but who will actually feel the worst. These players played their heart out to get where they were and to be denied the SUPER BOWL was very hard.
