Childhood obesity can lead to early onset of diabetes. If not controlled, diabetes can destroy kidney function, cause blindness, etc. If kidney function stops, poisons collect and the individual will eventually die if not given a transplanted kidney, which are almost impossible to get. Even thrice weekly dialysis to clean the blood of toxins/poisons will lengthen remaining lifespan an average of only five years. We need to keep our youth active through their teen years and hopefully keep them active all through adult life. Guam has a terrible rate of survival by those on dialysis. Many on dialysis just give up on life. They are susceptible to heart failure, even if there was never any heart issues before the necessity of dialysis.
