Google how many countries have such programs like food stamp, wic and public housing. So sad people depend on such things and i was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth...i was just taught well. Go get a job have goals and dreams. Just remember this nothing is free in this world and nobody told you to be broke...you just did not try hard enough.

I think that guam is adequately served if anything we might be over served. I think the real concern should be corruption and misuse of the program. They need to restructure the whole program to the style of WIC. I mean what kind of nutrition do you get from junk food. Maybe some restrictions on soda and candy would be good. That would leave alot more money for real food. Either completely remove it from the program or put a limit on it each month. I think it should be removed, if they can buy cigarettes, alcohol and bettlenut with cash then they can buy other junk with cash.
Will this happen? Very unlikely because of the other issue, corruption. It has to change from the top down. But I would like to see the change from the bottom up. It would show the top how much we care about our children and our island and if we can save money in one area maybe it can be used for other areas like our schools.
So far almost 40 % feel like guam is under served and not 1 comment on why? I understand there are families with a legitimate need for the program ...life's not easy. But I know for a fact that a good amount of people abuse the system . You know the type .... no job, no desire to work, and have more kids for the sole benefit of getting more from the government . I personally know people who do that and it makes me sick. I work my tail off to make ends meet for my family , along the way i have to make sacrifices to stretch the money I earn . The snap program is not meant to feed your family for you ...it's meant to HELP you feed your family. It's not a free pass to be lazy. Please remember I'm only speaking to the considerable amount of people taking advantage of the system. I know there are people out there who genuinely need the program . I'll tell you one thing I know for sure... if you are part of the almost 40% who feel the program is under served , I'm guessing you are on the program , yet... how is it that you can afford a monthly cell phone bill let alone a smartphone or computer to be able to even vote on this poll ?
