As challenging as it has been to jsut "prep n test" the idea of switching to ICD-10, the real concerns will surface post Oct 15 when unspecified ICD-10 or worse incorrect coding result in loss/ diminished payment to the providers-health systems-ACO groups for their services. We will then be trying to re-bill to capture loss payments. Of course the payers have agreed to accept unspecified ICD-10 codes, it will result in less payout on their end...
