With so many dog parks around now and friction arising from owners who don't pick up, should dogs be banned from 'people parks'? (Poll Closed)

Problem with tagging dogs is people LIE!!!!!!!!! I clean up after my dog and I've been told that the woman who started this is spreading rumors I do not clean up after him. Now how can we be banned because someone is lying? Certain people want control and they will go to any ends to get it-including spreading rumors and trumping up information. What about YYSC-they leave a MESS-why are they not being banned? I have pictures of garbage left-on the track/grass-shirt night-labels are on the YYSC plastic bags-but it appears newspapers/town is not interested in this information. Interesting.

I think having to get a TAG for your dog & ENFORCING THE TAG RULE is a start. Two warnings & then BANNED for not picking up after Fido. 6 ft. leashes max as well. (That includes little pocket dogs too....) More often than not the little dogs are not held to the same standards as bigger dogs and are usually LESS well behaved. I have stopped going on rail trails as well as dog parks and our local track because even in the parks where you have to get a tag, no one enforces it & it ends up being a free for all. Those with unruly children should also be held accountable. RESPECT across the board would work wonders!!

Dog owners violating park rules are a problem in all of Yorktown's parks. Enforcement is limited or nonexistent. Rather than banning dogs from the park in question, Town Police and other law enforcement officers should take the problem seriously and issue summonses to violators. The same holds true for our more rural town parks where dogs are allowed on leashes. Owners who let their dogs run free in places like Turkey Mountain Park should be subject to fines. The majority of dog owners follow the law; those who don't should be held to account.
