YES! Please save us from Paul (open borders) Ryan or Dan Webster whose conservative record is not much better than Ryan's. Paul Ryan's up front demands to take the job should be enough to disqualify his candidacy. He is playing semantics and coy now with those demands.
Please, please, Rep. Blackburn. The dye is not cast for Ryan, at least not in the minds of the people. Ryan is yet another Boehner 2.0. Please throw your hat into the ring.
She would make an excellent speaker. A true conservative, supports, are troops, and she is well thought of in the House. Always prepared for the media and a frequent spokesperson for the party.

Absolutely not. Ryan has earned it, Blackburn has not.

She would only succeed if willing to listen to moderate Republicans and Democrats.

NO shes an embarrassment already. No more spotlight for idiots.
I find it interesting that responses do not seem to answer David's question with respect to whether such a choice would be the best one the House's Republican majority could make (to advance their goals).
If your views are not in line with the "Conservative" majority, you're bound to be disappointed by any choice.

Marsha would be great and an effective Speaker of the House. She would also be an excellent foil to the focus on Hillary in the run up to 2016.
Marshall Dowell - 8 years ago
She has zero chance of being Speaker. Why is this news? The lede is buried in the last paragraph. There hasn't even been a mention of this for 10 days.
Dan Banks - 8 years ago
Yes, Marsha is a perfect candidate for the Speaker position. Her proven leadership coupled with a strong stand on key conservative issues qualifies her as the best person for the job.
Meg - 8 years ago
Absolutely! Yes for Marsha!
Tausha Leegan - 8 years ago
Marsha has been in DC for 14 years with zero accomplishments.

Ha! Bless Diane and Marsha. Two peas in a pod.

He need fighters up there and she would be excellent.

My first thought was that she would be an embarrassment to Tennessee, as she already is everytime she appears in the media. On second thought the Republicans deserve her and she would identify with them more than she would Tennessee. Go for it Marsha! 5% cut across the board!!! (her claim to fame)
I know her best and I guarantee she would be the BEST EVER!
The naysayers must either not know her or they are liberal Dems...

No! She lacks intelligence and integrity! The worst possible combination.

Marsha is awesome!

An excellent choice!!

OMG! Please, NOOOOooooooo! An idealogical mouth piece without the capacity to think for herself or to have any compassion for those less fortunate than her. Next to Mitch McConnell I can't think of anyone else that would be worse for the country.

Depends on if you love holding the govt hostage to ensure mainstream conservatives who wish to turn the clock back. Plus you need to be pretty bright, or used to need to.

Marsha Blackburn will provide lots of material for late night comedians, who will have all the more reason to mock Tennessee.
Groan. The GOP needs to move to the right with Blackburn so that they will become even more unelectable.
