It's one thing to support innovation, quite another to protect it. The Patent Act provides a framework for this, of course, but the cost of defending intellectual property through the current legal system is prohibitive, particularly for impoverished inventors. So - what can Justin do? Improve access to legal resources, lower the cost of protection, speed the legal process, discourage willful infringement through automatic, economically significant punitive damages, etc...
Support startup communities and foster a Canada wide innovation strategy. As a community builder / leader and advisor more than motivated to help on these fronts.
