For many years, our Mayor has been responding to concerns about the stray dogs in my area - especially the packs. I've posted videos about this and even the photos of the homes that feed these packs. As always, I get my share of sympathy and bashing from both individuals who know my concerns to individuals who feel sorry for the dogs. I am NOT an animal hater, but I am an "Animal-Who-Chases-and-Bites-Children" HATER!! In my area, there are about four dog packs who are very, very territorial. Mayor Savares has warned the owners of many of these dogs - some of them actually let their dogs loose in the morning and then bring them in to their fenced home at night. I've taken pictures and videos and still these dogs are running loose and multiplying!! I've seen pups following their mothers who are in the dog packs, so go figure what these pups will grow up doing!! UGH...

Several years ago I called our mayor to help me with the stray dogs in our street. They keep coming to our property, and yes I feed them and end up staying with us. That was the whole summer that I keep calling the mayor's office but they tell me that they don't have enough people to catch the stray dogs. Then I also called animal control and it's the same story..."we'll catch them, our people usually go out there 4 am to catch them" but it seems like they just tell me that so I stop calling their office. That was several years ago, and I still see lots of stray dogs.

We love to euthanize animals at GANE. In fact, we do that 10x more than we adopt them out. So come on and help us catch and put more to sleep esp cause Chamorros are to stupid and hooked on government handouts to care about their once were puppies and kitties.

Dededo mayor once told me that they have people who will be ridding the village of strays! Hmmm...dogs are still here 3 years later! Vote her out!

How can anyone vote yes on this poll? Chamorros should be ashamed of themselves because we've captured so many more dogs or have had to take them from homes where they live. They allow their dogs and children to breed without the thought of who will care or provide for them. Other Micronesians are right behind them. This must be what government assistance does to people when their leaders just soak up their votes so they can continue the cycle of poverty, influx of federal funds in quest, welfar, housing, and other US taxpayer monies. I'm so tired of having to see these animals suffer because of stupid and ignorant humans.

I say if you can't beat em then eat em ! The stray dog population is never gonna be solved with a government that focuses on personal gain rather than public service , the only solution I feel is to talk to the Chinese and the Filipino associations to have a festival serving cuisines that contain dog meat . Eating dog is normal in most Asian countries and I feel since Guam has a mix bag of resident Asians they can promote their culture with a festival that included a few dishes containing dog . That would help with the dog population I guarantee it . It's just a suggestion and please don't get angry with me , I'm just trying to be open minded .

Christine with you all the way.. Let's take anther jab at our perch sitting senators.. It's amazing how all that money appeared overnight for their pay raise and back pay when the problem with stray animals has been an issue for decades on Guam..... Their pay needs to be performance based.. No results, no pay!

Guam needs to follow the Mainland's method of animal control...Guam's population and landmass is small and yet the problems the island experiences seems large.

Gov Guam should be ashamed of themself! I am sure they drive by homeless dogs everyday! And DO NOTHING!!! Well I care I feed several strays daily and try to catch a few they are so sad homeless neglected havent seen a vet for shots or heartworm protection! Its heart wrenching and not acceptable! It amazes me & MANY others how the population got so out of control? I was told that Hawaii is suppose to be trying to help with animal control here but I still havent seen anything done by there humane society yet either? There are allot of animal agencies and I have contacted them along with PETA and they gave me some ideas also asked where guams animal control is? What a joke they also dont care but how do they have a job then? Voters remember this when voting!! There can also be a free spay & neuter van sent here to help along with volunteers helping to get the homeless atleast some help! And then adopted? I can say I am ready to stand outside the govners office until he does something! You know its sad when you care more about things not as important then something starving and sickly! HELLO GOV GUAM I DO CARE AND I WILL BE PUSHING UNTIL I SEE RESULTS!!! ANYONE CARE TO JOIN??
