If you feel that your getting poorer, yeah, the Government is partly to blame, but at the same time, having a decent job and not taking advantage of GovGuam benefits such as housing, foodstamps, welfare, we can be better off. It frustrates me to know end when I see people taking advantage of the foodstamp program, they come into the store with their cart full and they are holding an Iphone, diamond necklace and here is the best part, they drive in SUV;s that are brand new. Now these are the people that are making us poorer!!

Gov guam makes countless mistakes and the ones who suffer is the ones that actually gave them their title. Governor hands out broken promises and mayor's claming they work so hard when they are never there to even listen to the people request on what tge village needs. So many parks that children cant play in, its seriously sad how the people is last prioritie.

It's not just GovGuam to blame. Local landlords also play a role in making sure honest hard-working citizens don't live in nice, safe neighborhoods. Everyone LOVES to base their rent off of the military OHA and won't budge a dime for anything else.

    HELLO GUAM,

Wake up and smell the coffee senators, better start doing something or we are headed down the same road, or you can all just pass legislation and let IMMIGRANTS run for office, they seem to be taking over our Island anyway, this I see coming and then will all be S@*T out of luck!!!!!!Please read the link below.

Looking for a job for months now. Even applying for jobs I don't qualify or I am over-qualified for. Waiting for the military build-up to happen but all the contracts are bidded off to off-island companies. The cost for food and utilities are costly. Elected officials getting richer and the middle class are getting poorer. Something gots to give.

Middle class is the new poor on Guam. It is way too expensive to live on Guam. The only ones that are prospering are the upperclass that head government agencies. They receive ludicrous salaries, get kickbacks and bribes, etc. this has been going since ever since.

It's no longer a husband and wife making ends meet, but if you could include your chack-mack and make it a three way intersection to make ends meet then that's the way to go in this Island of Guam, they should have the next reality show on Guam. "Living the Three Way Life"

It sure seems like it. My spouse and I have jobs, but it seems like we need a third income. Also, my sister and I have the same job title, but she works in the mainland and makes $6 per hour more than I do.

It appears that GovGuam is out to bend all the working class over and driving them home with their inability to keep their financial bills paid.. It is up to the working class to keep this government afloat due to some of the ineptness of the managers of their respective agencies. As it has been said before by a great military mind. BOHICA- Bend over hear it comes again.

  • Islander 2 - 8 years ago

I hate to say it but it sure seems like more people are struggling to stay afloat or keep a roof over their heads . Thanx Gov Guam
