oh forgot to grade the Governor, I give him a D. He can get an A if he just changes his administration.

  • Brad Hewitt - 8 years ago

The Governor gets an A for HANDING out raises and a F for HANDLING the raises. As the comment below states, this administration is obnoxious. You hire people at wages that already high, and then you quietly give them $1.2 million in rewards. When will this administration realize that protecting the peoples money is sacred, and this greed has its consequences. Ray Tenorio, Dennis Rodriguez Jr, Tommy Morrison, Tina Barnes, Brant McCreadie, Tony Ada, and Judith Won Pat, should all be remembered as the ones who voted themselves a hefty raise, retro payments and essentially stole the people's trust when they voted for PL 32-208. Ray Tenorio walks around like he thinks he is above everyone else, yet the people of Guam will remember him as nothing more then a former, has been, Lt. Governor who stole from the people on January 1, 2019.

Again, it all comes down to what justifies a pay raise. I believe the Governor ok'd the pay raise for popularity reasons only.

Some of these Adelup employees are really insulting the intelligence of the voters and the people with their ridiculous votes and comments. Were you sleeping or spending your taxpayer dollars eating expensive meals back in December and January when the people of Guam were screaming about these raises. Now you essentially steal the taxpayer monies in the form of rewards? This is corruption at its finest. Rewards for what? Supporting and keeping the corruption quiet?

Buenas Ben, you can also view the Salaries online, visit the government of Guam website..you will be amazed on how much everyone gets. Adios

Ok now that the votes are in with the Governor handling of pay raises with a grade of A", I would like to see a printed Column in the PDN with names and total annual earnings. I'm just curious to know what each member of the administration, to include Mayors, asset mayors, etc are getting paid.

    What about our teachers?

Eric, Check if GMH garnished it to pay the administrators Credit Card

Fake Poll?!?! LOL Too funny and I agree...
I don't know what the Gov has been smoking or eating but I want some to think improvement in the quality of life is a good reason to give raises. Shouldn't it be the other way?? Maybe his quality of life improved but not our kids, health care, public safety and education. Oh well, its his last term so he has short timer syndrome and halfway out the door. It will take awhile to fix the issue with raises and bonuses. I figure they will actually do something about it after they milk us tax payers dryl

He is doing a Great Job when it comes to handling pay raises!! He needs to payout more Tax Refunds too!!
    ....still didn't get mine yet.....June 2nd ......anybody...HELP!!

People stop getting fooled by San Nicholas's rhetoric, arrogance, and lately his Bullying of Government of Guam Employees at the public hearing. People how can you be easily fooled...San Nicholas voted NO on pay raises, but happily accepted without a fight either. He can easily write a check to the Treasure of Guam every pay period if didn't want it, but for the past two years he has been taking the pay. Again people...I think we are smarter than a fifth grader to figure out his rhetoric and politic game on this issue. He has absolutely NO bills that make a difference in this community. I am tired of his games. I figured him out. All for negative controversy and dividing the community.

Abe, from what planet are you from. Just dreamn along.

AMAZING! Voters gave the governor an A++ for his administrations exceptional work so it's no surprise he felt a raise was in order. Enter the greedy Senators outgoing and incoming now to include themselves somehow that they deserved it. NOT! San Nicolas, Respicio, BJ Cruz, Won Pat all stood in the way of saving MILLIONS of dollars to refinance old debt at a lower rate. What didn't they get?? Save money on debt so we can use it for education, public safety, and healthcare issues. Stupid is as stupid does, my momma says.

Oba skoba Senatdots. Start over and erase your current raise. Put it on the ballot for a vote in next years election, and then see what and who the people feel are the most deserving of a pay raise. See nai', if you just focused more on helping the economy, get money to fix the roads, schools, and improve all of the public safety agencies you would seem more deserving of any increase.

The Legislature could've spared both themselves and the voting public all this drama. The Gov asked permission for his staff and himself while including the legislature and mayors. The Senators could've just removed themselves and dealt with their raise in a referendum separately. They can now. The Mayors, I will admit, are in fact above the suggested pay rate by the Hay Group though.

Calvo admin is becoming to be one of the most Greedy and Corrupt organizations on Guam , he really doesn't care about the growing massive debt he is creating to fill his and his friends pockets ! We are on track to bankruptcy just like Puerto Rico ! Thanks Gov Guam ! One super typhoon away from defaulting on the loan . Gov Guam is Rich ! Pay Raise and Retro for themselves , must be nice to be a crook !

  • joe Rag - 8 years ago

Look the last 475 supporters of the Calvo clan just voted again and incredibly they all voted with in one minute of each other.

PDN someone hacked your new system!

Can we please get the real results of this poll?

Can we just put the raises on a ballot for a special election so that we can stop paying for these unjust raises.
The only people that voted on these raises had something to gain personally, which is an ethics violation.

GUAM GOVERNMENT MAKES EVERYONE ON GUAM LOOK LIKE WE ARE STUPID TO EVERYONE ELSE IN THE FREE WORLD.

If the raises are truly justified, then when the PEOPLE cast their votes you have nothing to fear, because then it will be voted on by the people not just some guy that says we deserve a raise.

TOO EXPENSIVE, TOO COSTLY, TOO MUCH DEBT.
GIVE THE BONUS TO THE HARD WORKING PEOPLE.
YOU SHOULD PAY THEM YOUR SELF.
NOT THE PEOPLE OF GUAM. WE LIVE YOU TOO.

  • Abe - 8 years ago

The Gov in my humble estimation did in less than 4 years what anyone in hired for his position would do after more than 20 years of mismanagement by past administrations of Guam's finances would've done. He and his administration tackled a major debt and injustice to taxpayers by restructure it in a fiscally responsible and timely way, taking our governments junk bond status to A status, He then paid all vendors to date, implemented the hay group raises to ALL who deserved it under the executive branch, as did the judiciary I might add. What leadership in private sector or anywhere else would not have done this so noble and honorable a thing I ask? He has not brought on any NEW debt that isn't accounted and paid for in the present operating budget and all our bills are getting paid for a fact.

  • Paradise Place - 8 years ago

The Governor must have been sleeping when the majority of the People of Guam voiced their total rejection of the government pay raise.
