I'm going with BJ Cruz. You definitely have my vote. This black Friday holiday for government of Guam cost so much money and it is unnecessary.
Every working citizen of Guam is a taxpayer irregardless of what branch, division or private sector you come from! It should have been worded better. Instead of using Black Friday, They should've said Employees Appreciation Day for all working Citizens! Using the line Black Friday only allows much criticism to Government workers because I too would say the same " That its tax payers dollars"! However, coming from the private sector We deserve to be recognized and likewise with the government workers they need to be appreciated for every hard sweat they put into their jobs! Employees appreciation day would fit this day after Thanksgiving! Giving Thanks is what it's all about!
He did this to take away the publicity about how he handled the pay raises and everything thats been going on in his administration. Whoever heard of Government Holiday "Black Friday". He wants to make everyone like him by giving this "unnecessary" holiday. I'm sure that all the government employees have no comment on this, because they welcome this extra day. I may or may not work for the government, but I do not agree with the way the Governor handled this. Like I said, He did this just to make everyone LIKE him so as to throw off all the publicity about the pay raise issue and everything else. SenatorBJ, I hope you continue this issue because it seems you are the only one that cares. You definitely have my vote, come election time!
why does everybody say that it cost taxpayers this or that? government workers are also taxpayers and work just as hard as anybody else does for their money. they also have family to support and bills to pay like everybody else. stop creating division.
Holidays cost taxpayers on average of $250.000 extra on OT and Holiday pay. Doesn't this government understand that we can't afford all these additional expenses? It is the latest distraction so the government employees will forget about the illegal bonuses issues out or the raises the people were against?
