If the person identifies as Male, looks male, and passes as male, race as male. Same for female. If there is a question, then a testosterone test should be given. Not, enough, the person should be counseled. No ban and no relegation to the 'other' class unless there is an overwhelming advantage (intact male racing as female for competitive reasons). I know of a few famales that openly raved with.males. They did very well.

People who don't understand transgenderism -- obviously don't understand the "what should happen here" -- In reality, the only things that should matter are where the hormone levels are for this individual.
In the case of a male-to-female case, once the testosterone levels have dropped into the normal range for adult females, then "she" should be allowed to race with women. I would imagine that she would rather race with the ladies anyway, but the existing rules have always forced her to race with the men. As a matter of reality, for all those guys who don't want to see a "girl" in their race -- she's at a quite large disadvantage in strength/muscle, just plain due to the hormone changes.

If he or (she in the instance) wants to be a female then race as a female. You can't have both ways.
