Is that the best idea our decision makers can come up with? Not saying I agree with the implementation of a small Departure Tax or small Sales Tax here on Guam but at this point they would make more sense (and more money) than this folly of an idea. Even better how about we get this Medical Marijuana law implemented (like it was supposed to 9 months after the bill was voted into law by the people) make some tax money and progress to legalizing recreational marijuana use and watch the tax monies fly in (get it GVB)? Has anyone even been paying attention to how much tax revenue the WA and CO governments have collected in the last year alone after legalizing and taxing recreation marijuana? If you do not know the answer to this question I suggest you do some research and educate yourself. Elected leaders and decision makers of Guam take notes.

We already pay shipping on items bought on the internet. Why should we be penalize for buying items that can not be obtained otherwise locally? If Guam wants us to pay taxes on them, they should have these items available locally and they can apply their GRT on it. Since that is not an option, we have to order off-island and pay shipping.

Guam is headed towards a financial catastrophe , mark my words ! Guam will have to file for bankruptcy just like Puerto Rico and will be begging the FED's for a bail out , in fact congresswoman bordallo is already trying to push for a bail out for Gov Guam along side Puerto rico's request .
Once there's a financial collapse in Gov Guam you will see them promote QC's , Hotel development , tax increases and housing development to try and create more income . Oh wait they are already doing that ! Lol... Pathetic ! Greedy ! Corrupted ! Selfish ! Morons ! Thanks Gov Guam !

Its a funding source for the pay raise. The government of Guam can't seem to pay there bills on time so they have to find a way to keep it. Who gets screwed in the end ? Taxpayer !

Instead of looking at imposing more taxes, GovGu must downsize and make it run more efficiently. Get all GovGu offices out of the customer-unfriendly ITC building and place them where taxpayers needing their services (AG, Land Mgt, GPD) could find parking. Even the overflow parking at the back of the building are all reserved for employees.

The only tax that needs to be introduced is that tax that other guy proposed on the Senators Facebook.
A 50% Guam government Employee tax. If you make $75,000 or more from Guam government your tax rate should a minimum of 50%! This way Guam government can pay for their own mistakes and have plenty of their money to play around with. It would also put them inline with what average salary is on Guam for non-government workers.

As it stands now Guam government wants to be paid Rockstar salaries with everyone else's money and it needs to stop!
