Absolutely. It is the only way we will attract quality candidates, since they don't have to leave their existing jobs and careers. Also, the stakes of making hard decisions wont be as high with a part time legislature, as they don't have to risk losing votes of the government workers if they make a decision that reduces government spending. The pressure of making the right decision is less, without assuming you will be jobless after the following election season.

David l disagree with you..sorry guy l retired 35yrs in the government. Wake up don't judge the book by its color. Yes, there are (some) lazy personal employees only there for the money. An Rita l agreed with you, and that goes to private sector, too. Stop blaming the government, blame the personal that don't work.

If you make legislature part time..then make the other branches of government part time..ridiculous...make mayors part time..they are not first responders..nor law makers..nor judiciary..just high paid middle men..

People of Guam want everything for free. They never want to pay for anything and when all fails they blame the legislature.yes I will admit some senators work more than others but for the most part the ones that do work really work hard and deserve to be paid! Same goes for our mayors they work super hard and get dumped on all the time! And the demands made on them are not limited to an 8 hour period but a 24 hour period! So pay those hard working senators and mayors!
