Same old story. It passes the house, but Madeleine can never get it through the Senate. I think her time is up. She's been in there with no success and could never agree on any compromises. I'm voting for someone new this time around. So disappointed! Many of our manamko are passing. Time is of the essence here! We need someone who really knows the ins and outs of Congress and can finally deliver!

I agree, let the Japs pay for it not the American people.

It wont pass this year, because the Congresswoman did not do her lobbying work with the US Senate. Also, her measure should not pass because it is taking money the US Govt already gives Guam for the highways and education, and then takes away the local governments rights on how to manage the monies given to them. The money can't come from Japan, but instead needs to come from DOD. They have the money, trust me.

I am a war survivor born 4/2/42...America didn't attack Guam Japan did. My kids n grandkids who are currently working in Calif. should not have to pay for war survivors and ESPECIALLY THEIR dependents on Guam. Glad I was liberated although I don't remember the war and doubt if any of ny BFFs do either. . My parents, ALL my siblings who went through the occupation of Japan are all RIP. Did not Jesus teach us to forgive and love one an other? Wrong?????????

The senate should pass a resolution saying Bordallo needs to ask Japan to pay for their own atrocities . Why should Americans pay for Japan's atrocities ? Build a float for liberation day parade with the message Japan should pay. Bordallo should ride on it if she genuinely cares which I seriously doubt .

When the bill is introduce in congress, it passes. that is old news nothing new. the congresswoman needs to put all her efforts into persuading the senate to do the same. That is where the resistance is at. Until then no big deal.

Japan not the USA should pay. Didn't the American soldiers already pay enough with their blood and lives ? It's just a publicity stunt by Bordallo to pander for votes in November . Typical politician , pathetic . Japan did the atrocities get the money from them not american tax payers who by the way already pour 1/2 billion dollars to Guam federal programs annually.

I hope it does pass this year but traditionally Congress does not give a crap about how many of Guam's people suffered, were enslaved, beaten and killed. Our young Chamoru's are allowed to join the military and get killed in the Middle East but yet we cannot vote for president. How ironic is it to ask our soldiers to pay the price for freedom but exclude them from the process of selecting a president who makes decisions regarding freedom. I hope they pay the reparations as our manamko keep dying off. By the time they decide to pay it the US will only pay about $20 because all survivors will be dead.

Let's say that the Guam war reparations will pass Congress this year?
It will not have an emotional impact because great number of our elderly have passed on, they are the ones who deserve it.
My grandfather was one of the first Chamorro to be killed by the Japanese soldiers who first set foot on Guam's shores killing everyone they encountered as they marched from Tamuning to Hagatna.
My father was stabbed with a bayonet but managed to escape when the Japanese were distracted by an on coming car, it was learned later that everyone in the car were killed.
My father has since passed on but he has mentioned countless times that he is happy just to see the American flag flying high..... God Bless America, God Bless Guam !

Will see what happens, even though Guam Congresswoman put good words, don't mean it will PASS, has to go to lots of hurdle.
