everyone is concerned,...and rightly so...!,...as you can see by the majority of the comments above, the island is pretty much tired of a certain fact plaguing everyday life here,...something better be done to control the situation or people will simply resort to drastic measures,...everyone have a nice day!

No, hold those who can't and don't want to pay accountable. Why not enforce minimum medical insurance requirement as a condition for entry to Guam by all foreigners seeking residency? Deport immediately if not in compliance, commits a felonious crime, or can no longer provide or receive support to meet financial obligations. Seems like GovGuam's answer to financial issues is to pass it on to those the hard-working tax and rate payers. Enough is enough. In the same token, hold the GovGuam official accountable for their irresponsible financial decisions that put us all in our current predicament, vote them all out!

The problem with GMH is we keep treating people who cannot pay their bills!!! Why do we have to treat them?! If they can't pay kick them out the door! These are people who depend on the govrnment to give them foodstamps, pay for their housing, and pay for the medical bills! They are just plain lazy ass people who are too lazy to work!...and I am sure this what alot of people are saying bcause this is the plain truth!!!!

    Rigged poll.

THE HOSPITAL MUST BE PRIVATIZED. The people of Guam should not have to
suffer for any decision made by few individuals that want to raise fees that will most
likely cause the tiny island of Guam to be an eyesore. Many people with very small income
can not afford trash fee to go up otherwise we will be seeing tons of garbage all over the island.

  • Kage - 8 years ago

Why put it to a vote, when the GovGuam will still go ahead and raise the fee!!!!

  • Rigged Poll - 8 years ago

Haha! I just have to laugh at the numbers above - you can definitely tell that this poll is being rigged. I think the administration should stop telling their lackeys to vote "Yes" as we can all see through this facade.

  • Trash GovGuam Incumbents - 8 years ago

Definitely no. It is already evident that the current administration is very self-serving. They were entrusted to make decisions that were in the best interests of the island as a whole and it seems that decisions were made primarily to benefit personal interests while letting the average taxpayer foot the bill.

In regard to the Legislature, most of the incumbents really should be voted out to give new blood a chance to solve the current problems plaguing the island. However, one must be discerning in voting in "new" candidates, as some of them have ties to the current administration and will only serve as puppets for the current administration's wishes.

Sadly, the people of Guam primarily vote according to family ties and political patronage, and until more outsiders come in and stir the pot diluting the ties somewhat, we're going to see more of the same for awhile.

For me l say leave the trashed out, since DMV Are collecting for abandoned vehicles, why not use it. There are more running vehicles (new or old) on the road then abandon. I say no to trash, wake up Government use other options.

My husband and I Pay taxes $ 3,000 a year. We work so hard we don't get anything from the government. We don't have food stamp, we don't have MIP, when we get hospitalized our Personal Insurance pays for it we pay the co payment. We work so we can provide for our children yet there are people who are privilege to get all the benefits even though they don't work. And Now you give all the burden to all those people who work so hard for their family. Why we have to suffer for all those people who comes to Guam (Compact Impact) and they made the GMH financial status go down. Wake Up People of GUAM
Why does GUAM / People of GUAM/ THE HOSPITAL suffer from all of these what does the compact impact did to the Island of Guam? Trouble everywhere? Majority of the people that owes GMH are the compact Impact state? Please save GMH for the PEOPLE OF GUAM who works so hard for their family.

    HELL NO !
If the fees go up, I'm going to close my account with Guam Solid Waste and they can take their trash bins back.

In my household our trash bin are only half full every trash pick up.

Expect more illegal dumping on the island.

  • Chris - 8 years ago

Rates go up, more illegal dumping.

  • Al - 8 years ago

Its funny how this supposedly Educated people got us into this mess. Maybe what we need in Government is more common sense.

  • woody - 8 years ago

Holy Cow! It's already $30 a month now for trash pickup--they're saying they would have to raise it up to $50 a month-- that's ridiculous! Why does
it have to come out of the Solid Waste program anyway? GMH has been insolvent for decades--there has to be a better way to to fix the situation---why not privatize GMH? I notice a lot of people voted in favor of raising the trash fees to help subsidize GMH--do they realize how much it' s going to cost all of us?

  • JoT - 8 years ago

Definitely not!! Why the taxpayers and not the Local Government?? Seems like taxpayers are always paying for everything even when there's no benefits forthcoming. Remember not all taxpayers work for the government!!!

  • Joe SoBlonde - 8 years ago

Nope! Majority of the people that owes GMH are the Compact Of Free Association state. They strain the economy and judicial system. Major player in crime, littering, and food stamp abuse. They should garnish their tax refund, beside they get thousands of our hard earned dollars during tax period!
