These retirees also payed taxes, i know some who still do. Questioning if we, tax payers pay too much for their health insurance, i think not. They have worked 30+ years and they have put in their share of paying taxes. Why dont we question whether or not we are paying too much for food stamp and welfare. Dont get me wrong, there are people who are on Assistance and are actually trying to better their lives (this isnt for them), but there are those who just take advantage of the assistance being given to them. It erks me that a question like this will even become a part of a poll. I know Gov Guam employees who are retired, yet it still cost an arm and a leg to see the Doctor because their health insurance is expensive, and on top of that they struggle to put food on the table. While those who have no job get to go to the doctor for free and get to eat good because of the food stamp. I support people receiving public assistance if it is really assisting them to bettering their lives. I DO NOT SUPPORT people receiving the assistance if they actually make it their source of living.
With that said... retirees have worked for whatever benefits they received.

Why not leave the selection to each retiree? And have each pay the premium just as the rest of us taxpayers? It's bad enough we're all footing all the bills for GovGu, while the return on investment has significantly diminished. Again, the whole budget only benefits GovGu, thus the Governor and his Lt are Serving only GovGuam employees.

Why are tax payers that do not get health care from Gov Guam paying for their health insurance in the first place. With more than 10,000 Gov Guam employees they should be able to shoulder the burden themselves.
It is bad enough that i have to pay for increased salaries that cannot be accounted for and the employees that receive them are not held accountable. The Hay study only accounts for one side. Where are the requirements for receiving the salary that they do. Leadership claims they are doing their job, but they cannot balance a budget and the results always come at cost that is more than what is estimated by almost 10 million per project. Thanks Senator Rodriguez and employee Will Castro for helping the Governor to spend 45 million more dollars without a solution to fix the original problem. All three make $100,000 plus benefits. What are we paying you for?
