Pay raises that the elected officials got are just standard salaries for government workers holding key
positions. I believe salaries should be increased. This is the reason we attract many candidates including in the mayor & vice mayor. This raises are just peanuts if they will only make the right judgement.

    1) Why pay $200 millions for a new JFK school if we can repair the old one.

    2) Why pay $200 million for Tiyan school which is older than the JFK that was demolished if we can build a new one.

    3) Why built another Simon Sanchez School that will cost almost $200 millions including Interest if we could repair the existing one.

    4) Why rent a $600 thousand per month at Tiyan School if we can repair UMS with out closing the School.

The lists continue and continue. The Legislature, Governor , And OPA are accountable to this judgement.
In my opinion it is not for the best interest of the people of Guam since we don't have the funds. and just
    relying on more borrowings.

People of Guam. Please do not fall for this misconstrued lies. It's a political gimmick and a political suicide. And my guess is that it was created by those who have an ax to grind regarding the DEMOCRATIC PLEDGE. Voters of Guam. We are intelligent. We are smart. We know right from wrong. Do not let the evildoers attempt to get the best of you. The SUPER SIX (Tony Ada, Frank Blas Jr., Brant McCreadie, Tommy Morrison, Tina Muna Barnes and Dennis Rodriguez) want Guam voters to ousts the NINE who voted to repeal the "ILLEGAL" pay raise, to try to take the focus away from them. These SUPER SIX are using the Mayors and Vice-Mayors as their bait. But if you stop and think about it, in all fairness, any, and all "ILLEGAL" pay raises must be rescinded and repealed. These "ILLEGAL" pay raises were given behind closed doors, under the table, and behind our backs, Knowing full well that Guam was in terrible financial shape. Now these SUPER SIX want you to remember the NINE. To this I say, yes, remember the NINE. These are the individuals that we must vote for. These NINE are the one's who have our backs. These NINE know that the pay raises were "ILLEGAL", and that is why the NINE voted to repeal it. Don't be fooled by the SUPER SIX. God Bless Guam and God Bless the NINE senators who voted to repeal all the "ILLEGAL" pay raises.

REPEAL THE RAISES, why is it that the senators can vote themselves a high ass pay raise while the island slept, but they need to have a public hearing to raise the minimum wage a couple dollars. Some mayors may deserve the raises they got, but our mayor definitely does not, our Vice mayor sure earned his pay, to bad he won't be returning, hopefully his brother can fit his shoes. They complain that they only make $50/60 grand a year, the average person only makes $18/20 grand a year and still manage to live within their needs, pretty soon people from the states might move to Guam to run for office knowing that ours are on the most payed list.

Can somebody explain why these 9 Senators wanted to go after ALL Mayors and Vice Mayors with the override after they all said they wouldn't be touched in the repeal. These are absolutely lying Senators. These folks did not need to be part of your stupid petty politicks.

Here are the names of the Senators. Mayors and Vice Mayors share this list with your families and supporters. Please remember on Nov 8. General Election to not vote for them.

San Nicholas, Won Pat, Respicio, Aguon, Tom Ada, Torres, Espaldon, Underwood, BJ Cruz

Pay Raises, ugh first off the illegal pay raises adelup gave should be repaid as ordered by the AG. Those employees were all political hires and most importantly the LEGAL EAGLE who signed as the authority to proceed with the personnel actions for the pay raises SHOULD BE SANCTIONED! It was found to be a illegal pay raise so who in the heck was the Governor's attorney who signed off on that??? He/she should be liable and face some notable consequence like being sanctioned or disciplined by the Guam Bar Association so that "illegal pay raises" can be a real thought process before these attorneys sign off. I would hope that attorneys be asked to pay a huge fine when their decisions of illegal pay raises is recorded. PAY should always be measured to performance standards, these unclassified political employees don't have a standard to be measured against. Compensation reform must be revisited for Unclassified employees of the government. A example is the Mayors. Mayors' salary should be compensated based on population. It's so unfair that a village mayor with only 700 people be paid equal to a mayor who has 5,000 people. Senators, whose got the guts to reform and cut the size of government employees? This government has operated the same manner since I was a child. I just hope the reform does not wait until federal receivership is discussed again......

All the pay raises that were done in an illegal manner needs to be repelled. The correct way to give pay raises needs to be done properly. You do realize that all their pay was raised substantially! Making all of them one of the highest paid officials! Hawaii's paid officials don't even make as much as ours!

  • Kendra Flores - 8 years ago

Let's see if it will pass if it is just the senator's pay they are cutting. Put up or shut up Senator San Nicolas. Introduce the bill to cut just senators pay. Put up or shut up. The people agree that you guys don't deserve your pay. You can always have public hearings and decide on the Mayors and the others. You won't because you like playing politics with people's lives.

Mr. Fred Camacho, you have been very misinformed and shame on you for spreading more lies about prob the ONLY incumbent that truly has the people in mind. Its people like you, who don't look up the facts and just accept the first they come across as evidence. That YouTube link you share was completely taken out of context. If you have access to the entire video you'll see that he was speaking on a past job.

  • Gloria1 - 8 years ago

I am keeping record on who not to vote. People will request who are the Senators who are proactive for the pay raise. They gave themselves pay raise and forgot about the teachers. Teachers and Parents please remember who cares about your children to make a difference. The Republican and a few from the Democrat are proactive on the pay raise. Kudo for Mr. San N. and Mr. BJ Cruz for for knowing that the people of Guam are the one who put them into office. It seem Dennis Rodriguez is a Republican wolf in a Democrat sheep skin.

  • Marisa Phillip Manibusan - 8 years ago
