The ACA drove my financially stable community hospital to join a larger system. This caused my position to be eliminated and I'm now unemployed. I expect to at least be employed during a Trump presidency.

The ACA will not be repealed but will be altered through the budget process using reconciliation. The administration will order HHS to immediately stop implementing the portions of the law it most dislikes. MACRA will remain untouched by Congress. A new CMS administrator may take a different regulatory approach.

It would be a shame to see him roll back the progress we've made in improving the healthcare system - and that should be a real concern for ALL of us, whether you voted for him or not.

I'm seeing many speculations and fear-responses about the president-elect. I share some of those apprehensions. We need to spend our energy on what is real.

Trump is not the major source of threats; he's just an unprincipled loudmouth. Congress is a major source of threats. Secondarily, Trump's cabinet and other appointments can do real policy-level harm. We need to watch them carefully.

The regulatory process is a place to insert some shoes into the gears. When new or changed regulations are proposed, a Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM) is published in the Federal Register. There is a period during which the public can make comments. The people who issued the NPRM are obligated to respond to the comments. Now, if thousands of people make comments, the process can take a very long time, during which the proposed rules are in limbo. The comments themselves should be thoughtful, pertinent, and based on fact. This is especially true if there is peer-reviewed science that needs to be considered. Cite sources. Do your homework. Force critical thinking upon dogma.

He will bankrupt the US like some of his businesses. He is only interested in the power and title not us.
