Do you know what vendor/ application is being replaced? It be nice if you provided that level of transparency.

Moving to Meditech's new 6.1 platform from Magic or CS is as significant as a new vendor's system for those health systems. In all likelihood they went through an RFP process and decided to go to the new platform vs. a competitor's and really no different than the Sorian to Cerner decision.

No, sales section should be new sales. Why not start a new section for Extensions/Upgrades/Flips?

Extended contracts are somewhat of an easy win. And people only care who is switching vendors.

Meditech to Magic is a definite no...with or without new contract. But a Sorian to Cerner should be a yes since it involves a total replacement, retraining, etc.
On the other hand if a client goes thru a complete vendor competitive re-bid before buying the expensive 'upgrade' one could argue it is a 'new' sale. Unfortunately there is no easy way to track that situation.
