I'm one of those nerds that actually enjoys the education at conferences. I've never really been impressed with the education tracks at HIMSS. Most of them just feel like sales pitches. I would rather spend my organization's money on a user group meeting where I can get some real usable value.
I am a startup and I couldn't afford the pass this year (I have all the points!)- not with the other 2 "mandatory" conferences that I have this year. I even tried asking around to see if anyone had an unloved pass that I could adopt but no luck. Next year!
