my 1st-the 1st comment was about 6am and now its about 7pm.
Stay the course, don't wreck the rebuilding process...., we've done this in the past
Nice platitude from the movie The Patriot,,,,who other than 1 or 2 have Crew picked up in the past to mortgage the future..name them....and for almost 50 yr franchise with 1 WS appearance-a loss, and maybe 5 play-off appearances , what are they waiting for , can't tell u how stronly i feel about this.....they have u fooled if u think to wait when a piece or 2 can put a team over the top. U pay 200-300 bucks a game for a family of 4 to watch losers..Good God!....to approach the Cubs 108 yr separation or winners....get on the stick.....give us a winner...now....Wait ...my ass...Uecker will be gone soon , and then there will be absolutely no reason to listen to a crappy losing team.....

Absolutely not. Inevitably, unless you are the Cubs - that could contend for years with a young roster, sacrificing prospects for one high priced player is something to be cautioned against. And it cuts against Stearns' sound strategy in rebuilding the ballclub for the long-term.

Too soon to mortgage the farm for a player who will be baseball version of Gary Payton...

Hell yes. One player (pitcher) won't have a significant effect on the rebuild. They's be in 1st place right now if the bulllpen hadn't blown 6 or 7 games so far.

You better believe they should pick up a high priced player if they are in contention. It's always about winning now if a team can. If they are still in the playoff hunt by the trade dead line, how could they not go for it?

Anyone that Mortgages the future for todays consideration is much like an Alcoholic or a Drug abuser=====THEY HAVE NO FUTURE====="Stay the course " significant improvement must not be thrown away to satisfy a short term pat on the back

It seems to me trading for a one and done is what put the Brewers in this position in the past. We have too many holes in our pitching staff. Now ask me again in a year or two. Our time will come. Stay the course.

    it was 1982, not '85
    for Sutton and Medich...

Hell ya..whatta mean, no..the future is always now in pro sports...prospects may or may not pan out. When u have a chance u go for it. It is a game . The objective is to win. Especially in the Brewers history, way back in 1985 they added Sutton, and Medich later in the season to bolster the pitching, and their one yr recent play-offs resulted in a disappointing loss to the Phillies in the 1st round. The Crew has played surprisingly well so far(I expected a bottom dweller season- its still a long haul- so we'll/i'll) see), but in my opinion, and considering the current state and history of the small market Brewers, if u have a chance u go for it. Annastasio can afford it (regardless of what he says ,) and with the profit, prices and attendance even in crap yrs, it is worth the effort, and potential gamble, because again it is a game, and the objective is to win...as Al Davis said 'just win, Baby."
