Unfortunately, very few people in Florida know HOW to use a round-about ... that makes them dangerous and frustrating for everyone else. In a way, it surprises me since we have SO many transplants from the NE where round-abouts are common ... but they seemed to have forgotten all they knew once in Florida for more than a few weeks.
I found them nerve-wracking when, as a Floridian who'd lived in TX and KS before moving to MA, I encountered them for the first time outside of Boston. But I soon learned how to navigate them efficiently (and with a bit of assertiveness ... Boston drivers aren't among the most patient or courteous). I really, really have to doubt the stats saying the round-abouts are safer than alternatives. I DO, however, believe the major problem is putting them in where there isn't enough room for people to migrate into the lane needed to safely exit.

Too many older drivers don’t understand that the entry to a roundabout is a yield and not a stop

Roundabouts keep traffic flowing, it’s driving in a circle... if you can’t grasp that concept then get off the road.

I can just imagine a round about at 510 and 66th would just bottleneck the traffic to north at Barber and Schuman.
