As easy as it is to become cynical about studios and the decisions they make, I'm also encouraged to know there are a handful that understand how to bring the right people together to create quality projects. If it feels like Stargate- like Universe didn’t- if it honors the 15 years of legacy Stargate has left, if it doesn’t destroy the great world-building to chase the elusive “younger demographic”, the the millions of Stargate fans will embrace it. If you slap the word Stargate on something that doesn’t, don’t expect the lifelong fans to bow and scrape and be oh so grateful.

This may seem like an 'unpopular' opinion among hardcore fans but i honestly think they should just completely reboot it. Netflix would be perfect obviously. It could even start with a movie. I think the current universe is too fleshed out as it is. You are pretty much limited to the future, or to smaller events underlying those of the previous seasons. Loads of people are already moaning about the problems of a origins prequel...
A reboot would be more accessible to new viewers, and it could still play much homage to the original shows while allowing the writes much more freedom to create something exciting and fresh. That should be enough, the concept is fantastic and there is so much lore to work off. Have a stargate, and a team that goes through it. keep the goa'uld and the jaffa. Use much of the same technology and references that are already used but rework them into new and interesting alternative story lines. Add in some new ideas so we dont feel we are rewatching a remake. get some awe and mystery back into the show. Hell if you wanted to mesh it with the old series call it an alternate universe. Put some easter egg characters in there (#bringbackwalter)... i guess i just feel theres too much out in the open and too much attachment to what was. it was great, watch it again for the 20th time sure.... but also a refresh would be really cool, dontcha think?

Granted Id love to see all new show, but what you are doing is what EXACTLY will make that not happen! We need to show the support in whats being done so MGM will see the fans are starving for more! Deals with NETFLIX are not so easy to make happen! The cost of new set and getting a new pilot done and off the ground does not happen over night! Now Joe would be the man to get something on paper, but finding the right cast who is to say your not going to turn around complain about that too? I think it would be very interesting to follow the continued journey of earth and it's people once the stargate is made public. This would make a great lead-in, keeping old technology, while also starting over. With all the interest in space exploration I would love to see a space technology exploration rich series. I also belive that following canon is important. It would be fun to do something with Atlantis now that it's on Earth. Yes, please get Brad and Robert involved again!!

I would love for a new show that followed in the footsteps of SG1, SGA but not SGU. We have enough dark and gritty shows on tv. We need that comradeship of SG. Hardly see any new show with that. Its all back stabbing over emotional drama like the new star trek show.

Yes, pretty please! And do make it a sequel series. What I would really like to see is how things progress after SG-1/SG-A/SG-U. Has Alpha Site grown from a off-world outpost to a growing little city far away from the homeworld? Has mankind started colonizing other planets? Has Stargate Program been disclosed to the general public? Maybe Stargate Command itself would have evolved to a full-fledged interstellar bus station, man-made custom puddle jumpers going thru the gate 24/7. All that tech from Atlantis and Asgard databases put to good use... Maybe mankind would even have started to tinker around with stargate tech of their own? And of course the series would need some grand problem to solved, it can't all be fun and games. Total stargate network shutdown, interstellar war, maybe even Return of the Furlings... there are even more exciting possibilities than there are gate addresses!

I’ve never stopped wanting more Stargate. I still love SG-1 & Atlantis. I found Universe to be too much of a departure from the general tone of Stargate series. I’d absolutely love a new series with a similar tone to SG-1 & Atlantis...great characters, fun & optimistic, great adventures, sometime serious, sometime totally goofy, equally strong men & women. It’s needed now more than ever, considering how far off the rails Dr Who, Star Wars & Star Trek have gone.

I love everything Stargate and I wish that everyone of the seasons had gone longer!! With that said if you were to go back to an existing series and continue with it, it might not be economically possible to recreate props and have actor availability. The biggest thing I would love to see is a show that has the dynamics and plot line from SG, a wonderful science fiction exploratory feel, camaraderie, love and trust for all of the main characters, and a clear understanding of who is good and who is bad. Where the caracters are not over dramatic, the character reactions are rational, and the “military” acts like militar. Instead of a bunch of whinny kids who throw temper tantrums.

The guys have been amazing and given us an incredible story to get behind. But I don't think I can take anymore arguments about Canon. Would love to see a total re-invention from square one. I demand a new Stargate series at once! I don't care if it's continuation of SG1, SGA or SGU, or an entirely new entry to the franchise. Just make it happen, MGM.
I really want to like Origins. I'm obviously going to watch all of it even though the first 3 episodes put a bad taste in my mouth (especially after watching the incredible Black Panther).
Would love to see Stargate continue with, as Joseph said in a reddit thread "familiar and safe hands" running the creative side.
Brad Wright has done amazing work on Travelers, and I love what Robert C. Cooper did on Dirk Gently, but both of them should work together on a new Stargate show. This must happen!

I'd like to see the Atlantis movie come to fruition. Need the big bucks to get Jason back though. We need some closure that the finale we were forced to endure because it was cancelled. Universe never got going, some Atlantis closure would be preferable.

As a retired producer and filmmaker I enjoyed the professionalism and creativity of Brad Wright & Robert Cooper on Stargate and look forward to their new ventures. There are so many stories yet to tell in the Stargate universe, other galaxies and alien cultures to visit. Long form storytelling mixed with episodes and arcs as in the original SG-1, Atlantis and SG Universe series. The characters and concepts were rich and diverse and there should always be continued focus on the progress of humanity in conjunction with other species, as explored first with SG-1. What made these series so compelling was the mix of drama, humor, classy production values, credible acting, excellent score & effects. These are eternal. The more the merrier!

Words cannot describe what stargate means to me. Every time I watch SG1, SGA , and yes even SGU (season 2 was great) I feel for the characters; sadness when daniel "dies", satisfaction when teal'c, bra'tac, and the rest of the jaffa win their freedom, exhilaration when prometheus flies in to cover SG-1 during the battle of antarctica, distaste every time kinsey or simmons shows their faces, and a warm happiness overtime SG-1 walks through the gate... What I'm trying to say is: The cast and crew of Stargate have some of the greatest talent and dedication in tv history and can engage the viewer in a show like nobody else, and the way stargate is being treated right now by the creators of origins is just a shame, no matter what their budget was.
If stargate is to be revived it absolutely needs to be done the right way by the right people.

If we could have something to revive the feel of the old SG1, or Atlantis when it got going, would be amazing to see. I'd be so appreciative.
I would be flattered if you continued Stargate Atlantis. Give it an ending at least, we don't know what happens with the wraith.
But then again, time has passed and I don't think that would be possible. Creating a new full budget series is necessary. Making it canon, of course.

The idea of making the characters' stories known was good, but "for me" this made the first half of the season was too slow

However it would be interesting to introduce "occasionally" of social, environmental and so on. such as the exploitation of labor, pollution in Africa generated by electronic waste, the devastation of forests by intensive monoculture, the so-called Landgrabbing operated by multinationals to the detriment of millions of people who survive with subsistence agriculture, fishing intensive that several species of tuna are being extinguished, etc.

Yes, pretty please! And do make it a sequel series. What I would really like to see is how things progress after SG-1/SG-A/SG-U. Has Alpha Site grown from a off-world outpost to a growing little city far away from the homeworld? Has mankind started colonizing other planets? Has Stargate Program been disclosed to the general public? Maybe Stargate Command itself would have evolved to a full-fledged interstellar bus station, man-made custom puddle jumpers going thru the gate 24/7. All that tech from Atlantis and Asgard databases put to good use... Maybe mankind would even have started to tinker around with stargate tech of their own? And of course the series would need some grand problem to solved, it can't all be fun and games. Total stargate network shutdown, interstellar war, maybe even Return of the Furlings... there are even more exciting possibilities than there are gate addresses!

I would love to have a new show with elements from SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe. Though for Universe, only from season 2 and some cool moments from Season 1, like the 'Sun Dive Surprise' scene.
A new RC Cooper/Brad Wright series would be the best thing ever. I'd do anything to make it happen.

I’ve never stopped wanting more Stargate. I still love SG-1 & Atlantis. I found Universe to be too much of a departure from the general tone of Stargate series. I’d absolutely love a new series with a similar tone to SG-1 & Atlantis...great characters, fun & optimistic, great adventures, sometime serious, sometime totally goofy, equally strong men & women. It’s needed now more than ever, considering how far off the rails Dr Who, Star Wars & Star Trek have gone.
I love everything Stargate and I wish that everyone of the seasons had gone longer!! With that said if you were to go back to an existing series and continue with it, it might not be economically possible to recreate props and have actor availability. The biggest thing I would love to see is a show that has the dynamics and plot line from SG, a wonderful science fiction exploratory feel, camaraderie, love and trust for all of the main characters, and a clear understanding of who is good and who is bad. Where the caracters are not over dramatic, the character reactions are rational, and the “military” acts like militar. Instead of a bunch of whinny kids who throw temper tantrums.

The guys have been amazing and given us an incredible story to get behind. But I don't think I can take anymore arguments about Canon. Would love to see a total re-invention from square one. I actually think Origins is too much inside Canon. How about something totally fresh? We'll never lose what we have....
I demand a new Stargate series at once! I don't care if it's continuation of SG1, SGA or SGU, or an entirely new entry to the franchise. Just make it happen, MGM.
I really want to like Origins. I'm obviously going to watch all of it even though the first 3 episodes put a bad taste in my mouth (especially after watching the incredible Black Panther).

Brad Wright has done amazing work on Travelers, and I love what Robert C. Cooper did on Dirk Gently, but both of them should work together on a new Stargate show. This must happen!

I'd love most to see a continuation of Atlantis although getting some of those actors might be kind of difficult perhaps? But it was my favorite series of all time and that's what I wish for.
Stargate is the best series ever created! I loved SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe! It would be amazing to see either a return of one of those shows or a new one entirely. Movies, TV shows, anything. As long as Brad Wright and Robert Cooper are involved, I'm sure it'll be amazing!

I'd like to see the Atlantis movie come to fruition. Need the big bucks to get Jason back though. We need some closure that the finale we were forced to endure because it was cancelled. Universe never got going, some Atlantis closure would be preferable.

As a retired producer and filmmaker I enjoyed the professionalism and creativity of Brad Wright & Robert Cooper on Stargate and look forward to their new ventures. There are so many stories yet to tell in the Stargate universe, other galaxies and alien cultures to visit. Long form storytelling mixed with episodes and arcs as in the original SG-1, Atlantis and SG Universe series. The characters and concepts were rich and diverse and there should always be continued focus on the progress of humanity in conjunction with other species, as explored first with SG-1. What made these series so compelling was the mix of drama, humor, classy production values, credible acting, excellent score & effects. These are eternal. The more the merrier!
Yes please, you created 18 amazing years of wonderful TV. We so need you back, especially in our current state of the world. MGM need to run, not walk to your doors and make this happen.
I'd love to see you both work on another stargate project after promising a continuation of stargate Atlantis in movie form would be a great idea test the waters so to speak see if there is a demand and see how the movie does in ratings if it does well continue into a tv show same thing with stargate universe. Words cannot describe what stargate means to me. Every time I watch SG1, SGA , and yes even SGU (season 2 was great) I feel for the characters; sadness when daniel "dies", satisfaction when teal'c, bra'tac, and the rest of the jaffa win their freedom, exhilaration when prometheus flies in to cover SG-1 during the battle of antarctica, distaste every time kinsey or simmons shows their faces, and a warm happiness overtime SG-1 walks through the gate... What I'm trying to say is: The cast and crew of Stargate have some of the greatest talent and dedication in tv history and can engage the viewer in a show like nobody else, and the way stargate is being treated right now by the creators of origins is just a shame, no matter what their budget was.
If stargate is to be revived it absolutely needs to be done the right way by the right people.

Origins is decent, considering it was made with such a small budget. We really need a real, full length Stargate series. Brad, Robert and Joe Mallozzi would be the perfect people to bring it back.
