Derik was an awesome player all around. When that ball was given to him it was like he was flying in the air. He even performed well when he was sick. The coaches new he would perform and that they could count on him. The kids loved him. On occasion they would ask for his autograph. How awesome is that !! When we had had home games the stadium was filled. He brought the people as well out Delcambre football team out. He is my number one pick.
