  • Noah Brewer, Campbell County – The senior was the 10th Region tournament MVP after going 3-for-4 in 10th Region final with a home run and three RBI. The homer gave Campbell the lead for good at 1-0.

  • Tyler Sullivan, Madeira – Though he had a rough sixth inning, the junior pitcher was good for five innings in the DIII state semifinal game against Canfield South Range.

  • Will Pfennig, Mason – He threw 6 innings allowing 6 hits and just a run in Mason’s 1-0 semifinal loss to Anthony Wayne. Pfennig struck out 6 and finished as Mason’s single-season strikeout leader with 115 for the season. He was GMC Pitcher of the Year and DI All-City. Pfennig will pitch for Ohio State.

  • Drew Rom, Highlands - The Michigan signee led Highlands to its fourth-straight Ninth Region title from both the plate and mound. The tournament MVP, Rom recorded a single, a home run and a pair of hit-by-pitches –including the game-winning, walk-off HBP with the bases loaded. From the mound, Rom pitched the final 3.2 innings, striking out seven and allowing just one hit on 40 pitches. He earned the pitching win.

  • Sean Casteel, Covington Catholic – Casteel pitched a shutout May 29 for Covington Catholic High School to take them to the final game of the Ninth Region tournament and to get coach Krumpelbeck his 1,000th win. In this game against St Henry, he struck out 4 and only gave up 3 hits.
