  • Morgan Bates, Sycamore - Sycamore’s girls lacrosse team entered the DI semifinal with a losing record of 9-11 and briefly gave unbeaten Upper Arlington a scare. The junior midfielder led a charge that saw the Lady Aves tied with UA 23 minutes into the game. Bates scores Sycamore’s first goals. However, after a Bates’ goal got Sycamore within 7-5, UA finished with an 11-3 run to win 18-8.

  • Wally Renie, Mariemont – He scored Mariemont’s first and last goal of their DII semifinal loss against Columbus St. Francis DeSales May 30.

  • Duke Alf, St. Xavier - The Tufts signee took a shot with 1:46 remaining in the Division I state championship game to give the Bombers a 10-9 lead. It was St. X's first lead of the game and only one they needed as they held on to win the state title. Alf finished the game tied with a game-high three goals.

  • Marah Campbell, Mariemont - The freshman attacker deposited the game-winning score over the shoulder of DeSales' goalkeeper to lift the Warriors to a 15-14 win and a trip to the state lacrosse championship. Campbell also scored a late goal in regulation that tied the game at 14-14 and sent the Warriors into the extra period.
