How do you make yourself stop to sharpen your tools?

I love sharpening. I like all of my cutting tools to be sharp all the time and I don’t mind stopping to touch them up while I work.

I sharpen at the beginning of every session where I might need a cutting tool.

I sharpen once a week, and that’s all I need.

I sharpen everything at once, when everything is dull. Touchup sharpening comes as needed while using cutting tools. But, I do have to force myself to stop working.

You mean planes and chisels are supposed to be sharpened? Someone told me once I shouldn’t need a sledge hammer on my chisels, or move my planes with a block and tackle.
