  • Maria Bashardoust, Loveland - The junior and third year varsity soccer player scored a goal from outside the 18 at the West Jessamine game, Aug. 18, to bring the score to 2-0 a couple minutes into the second half. West Jessamine is the two-time Kentucky state champion (2016 & 2017). Loveland won 3-2 to open the season.

  • Emily Tirey, Oak Hills - One of the captains, she helped Oak Hills defeat Walnut Hills 3-1 in front of a crowd that reached 1,000 fans this past Friday night. Emily scored the first goal of the 2018 season, with a laser from 30 yards out on a free kick. She also had an assist for the second goal. After helping her team get a quick lead on the scoreboard, she then went onto play her natural position at center back.
