  • Simon Kenton – The Pioneers came on top of the closest game in Northern Kentucky in week 0, when they beat Meade County 29-28 Aug. 17. Caleb Farfsing threw for a touchdown and ran for another as they scored 21 second-quarter points. Running back Jon Sergent had 65 rushing yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.

  • East Central – Behind Alex Maxwell, East Central beat Lawrenceburg decisively 38-7. The EC senior quarterback had another standout showing in the Trojans' season-opening game against Dearborn County rival Lawrenceburg, Friday; the senior quarterback scored three rushing touchdowns as the defending 4A state champions defeated the Tigers 38-7 in one of the opening games of the Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown.

  • Bishop Brossart - Bishop Brossart blanked Dayton behind running back Nathan Bezold, who rushed for 65 of the team’s 128 yards and found the endzone twice. Additionally, The Mustang defense held the Greendevils to just 84 total yards and scored on a fumble recovery.

  • Highlands - Cooper Schwalbach anchored a Highlands’ ground attack that combined for 220 rushing yards as the Bluebirds rolled over Cooper in the season-opener. Highlands defense registered three turnovers, including two interceptions of Cooper quarterback Jeremiah Lee.

  • Covington Catholic – Quarterback Caleb Jacob helped the Colonels pick up where they left off, routing Ryle 40-7 in the Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown season opener at Ryle. Jacob completed 12-of-15 passes for 294 yards and two touchdowns. All but two of those pass attempts came in the first half, when CovCath led 28-0.
