Wyoming – The Cowboys pulled off a 14-12 win over a strong Taft team without Pierson Rogers, who was sidelined with an injury thanks to junior quarterback Evan Prater and target Joey Edmonds.
Elder – Elder won its 600th game as a football team with a 39-34 win over Indianapolis Cathedral Aug. 31, the third team to reach this milestone in Southwest Ohio and the first in the GCL-South.
Colerain – Colerain’s defense won the turnover war and helped the Cardinals take a 14-12 victory on the second day of their game with St. Xavier Sept. 1.
Moeller – Moeller took a seven-point victory in a 21-14 win over Louisville Trinity thanks to a game-winning play by Mitch McKenzie to Max Land with 8:01 left to play in the first half. The game was called in the third quarter.
Turpin – Jake Silverstein threw for 141 yards and three touchdowns, two to Cody Kidd, as Turpin scored a touchdown in each quarter to win 28-9 over Northwest, bringing the Spartans to 2-0.
Finneytown – The football team ended a 34-game losing streak with a 31-8 win over Gallatin County Sept. 3, a game that had been weather-delayed.
