Brandon McClendon, Holy Cross – He was the bright spot in a loss to CHCA when he had eight carries for 108 yards, including a 90-yard touchdown run – the only score for Holy Cross in the 56-6 loss.
Casey McGinness, Covington Catholic – The senior running back rushed for 172 yards on 11 carries, scoring three touchdowns, in addition to 40 yards on four catches and one TD receiving. Unofficially, he is 140 yards away from breaking CovCath’s career rushing record.
Trayvon Mason, Lloyd – He scored four consecutive touchdowns during Lloyd’s 50-8 win over Holmes. Mason ran in three scores, returned a kickoff 85 yards for a TD and converted two 2-pointers in the lopsided victory. He finished the night with 122 rushing yards and had a 40-yard reception. In all, Mason accounted for 28 of their 50 points.
Kaleal Davis, Newport – The junior quarterback finished the night with a game-high 122 rushing yards and two touchdowns on seven carries. He also had three of Newport’s four interceptions on defense in the win over Ludlow.
