I still don’t have the phone, watched the delivery shift from Friday to Saturday to Monday to Tuesday (since it has only just now left Alaska, my doubts arise as to whether Tuesday by noon will be met rather than pushed to Wednesday EOD). Apple clearly rerouted my phone to a store somewhere or deprioritized preorders, or did not want to ship phones at stores to cover customers who had already purchased via preorder. No apology email, just the regular marketing garbage proclaiming that the iPhone X’s is here! Unaware of their own irony, or of what it looks like to have the system on ups say the shipment delivered in Kentucky on time for Friday has been rerouted somewhere else, and another unit getting shipped from Hong Kong (I have screenshots). Apple’s website claims I requested a later delivery, which is really pissy. First world problems on the one hand, but will think twice before preordering an apple product again. It’s the lack of even a digital apology more than anything that bothers me, the same callous doublespeak garbage that proclaims removing the headphone jack is a courageous gift of some sort. Apple store shows the same phone available at stores w/in 45min area throughout the wait. If apple wants to occupy the luxury position and price in the market, they need to learn how a luxury brand handles customers. Not today clearly, but eventually the pendulum will swing as it did for Microsoft if they continue on this way.

Pre-order my iPhone XS first minute as preorder was open in US. Today is Monday 9/24 and I still not have it yet.
UPS show very intriguing tracking: Shenzhen, China - Louisville, KY, US [customs] - Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong - Anchorage, AK, US - [...path cannot not predicted in Matrix]. Cleary Apple had issue with customs clearance.
Now I am concerning mostly not about when I will get it but I do not like that device was traveling across globe and can be simple damaged due to excessive handling. Thinking about returning it to the store.
Apple customer support did not help at all. Very disappointed with Apple.

Ordered 2 iPhone XS Max on preorder date with a guaranteed delivery date of 9/21. 9/21 rolled around and no phones showed up. Checked the tracking on it as they were sent through fedex and it showed they hadn’t even been shipped yet. Tracking updated Saturday showing they got shipped on Saturday with a delivery date of 9/24. I checked the tracking again today 9/24 and the Verizon site say they should be delivered today by 4:30 pm but the fedex tracking site updated and says they won’t be here until tomorrow 9/25. This is ridiculous the purpose of the preorder is to have the phone first and not have to worry about the store not having enough to sell. All the Verizon stores I have been to have phones on hand but give me BS excuses saying they can’t sell me one cause they can’t cancel my order placed. I’m going to cancel my order anyway as this has been too much of a hassle. If I’m spending the money that apple is requesting for these phones and I went through the trouble of preordering I should get the phones on the original promise date. Guess I’ll be using my iPhone 7 for the forseable future. Apple just lost out on a sale.

Contacted Verizon late in the afternoon on the 21st and they checked and found FedEx has it scheduled for September 24 (today)”per shipper instructions “. It shows as a delivery exception, whatever that means. It’s about 2:30 on delivery day and it’s not here yet. Very disappointed.

Ordered on apple just 1 minute passed the hour on 9/14. Guaranteed delivery for 21. Now Monday 24 still no phone it took ups 5 days to get the phone out of China now I am scheduled for 9-25 end of day. Never again ups. Everybody I know that had fedex were delivered on the 21.

Ordered from Apple online minutes after preorders opened. Delivery first set for Friday. Then Monday. Now set for Tuesday. Based on UPS tracking, it looks like it was stuck in China and delayed due to customs. It was just scanned as having departed Hong Kong on 5/24 at 5:07pm (China time).

My order was place with T-Mobile at 3:05am opening night for pre-orderers. I was promised delivery on Friday Sept 21st. Thursday evening on the 20th UPS informed me that delivery would not be made until Monday the 24th. Not a happy camper as I had to ask my boss for another day off in order to sign for receipt of the phones from UPS. I stayed up all night to make sure I was getting these new iPhone for my family before the weekend and first of course.

Preordered 2 Apple watches GPS only from Best Buy. When ordered it stated it would be available on Friday 9/21. Checked the app on the 21st and again it stated it would be ready that day. When to Best Buy and they stated it was still being processed and didn’t know when they would get them.

Arrived to chaos at store, staff rude and condascending, not helpful and showed no concern. “Too bad, Hurricane Florence delayed your package.” This is Ross Park in Pittsburgh. Called Apple Support, 20 min to get to someone, then 45 minutes, no help. “Nothing we can do, dont know when you’ll get your order, cant reroute either.” Horrible experience.

Got a iPhone XS Max on time. Only problem is, after trying everything I, my provider, and Apple knew to try, it couldn’t connect to Apple’s server. Ultimately had to take it back to the provider, who didn’t have the model and can only order another one. So, looks like I’m waiting for another 3 - 5 days if I’m lucky.

I pre-ordered through apple on the 14th. Date was looking good for the 21st until 9:30am. Then I got an exception basically saying it was held up in customs. Today it was updated with a Kentucky stop, sender requested Saturday delivery and now it has a departure scan for Hong Kong September 23rd! UPS states I won't get the new phone until September 25th. Which sucks as I won't be home that day. My current phone decided to die on me. So now I'm without anything until mid next week! Soooooo livid!!!

I checked my tracking on Friday and could see that my phone had just “cleared customs” in China at 1:35 that morning. Apple’s website said all day Friday that it would arrive that day, but UPS showed no progress. Today, UPS shows that it will now arrive Monday, and the Apple site now states that I “requested a later delivery time” to cover up their error.

Standing by from 11:45pm before orders were to open (once with an iphone order, the lines opened up a couple of minutes early) I ordered an apple watch from Sprint and one BH Photo. Upon completing both orders within a minute (i had everything preloaded, address, credit card, etc) both showed a ship date of 9/21. On 9/20 I got a notice from UPS that a package requiring signature was en route. I did not know which order it was. Up early Friday, I checked status and BH was still showing 9/21 ship. UPS showed out for delivery. I both live chatted the BH representative who said the Apple shipment was delayed with no further info available. I was shocked. Thinking about it further, i had more questions...BH had shit down live chat....i called determined to stay on hold as long as necessary. The person I finally got said they were looking at Oct 1 but that the store would be closed reopening Oct 3...my doorman later rang up to say that my package had just been delivered. It was the Sprint apple watch. This is the second time BH has pulled this. NEVER AGAIN even to save tax. Within minutes BH removed the 9/21 ship date.

Pre-ordered iPhone XS Max through T-Mobile at 3AM EST. Order shipped on time and the package was delivered around 4PM yesterday. I opened it immediately (waved to UPS driver as he drove away), when I opened the package, the iPhone box was not shrink wrapped and the phone itself was NOT in the box. Just the charging cable, power adapter and EarPods. I immediately called Apple who re-directed me to T-Mobile and they opened up an investigation ticket through T-Mobile and UPS. They are supposed to be resolving it but I won't hear back any information until Wednesday at the earliest. Also I hear now the model I ordered may be backordered until October, so even if I AM reissued a phone right away, still gonna have to wait. So frustrated. Don't consider it Apple's fault but doesn't change my anger.

Order two phones. Both said originally were going to be delivered today. About 6 days in o was told my XS was going to be sent ten days late. The XS Max was to be delivered Friday. Then Saturday. Then it said out for delivery....in Tennessee. I’m in another state across the country. Rediculous.

Pre-ordered 10 hours after pre-orders started (3 am EST). I used the iOS Apple Store and delivery was offered within a multi-day delivery window so I elected to use in-store pickup which was available on the 21st. I selected a morning window of 10:30 - 11 am. I arrived at 10:15 am there was not a large line with only about 15 people standing outside. There was a local policeman for added security. Inside was not crowded. I asked about pre-order pickups with reserved times and they directed me to a line of 4 people. Scanned my QR code, welcomed me and said it would only be a few minutes. An Apple associate came out one at a time and took the next person in line to assist them. I was brought in for the same in about 5 minutes. Chatted up the associate while she finished processing the order and validating my photo ID. Walked out at 10:30 with a new iPhone XS. Upgraded from a 6S. Back at my office, the setup process was rather smooth and easy. Used the NFC/Bluetooth function of holding the phones close together, pairing them with the camera and then restored from iCloud backup.

I preordered with a 1pm checkin yesterday. At 3am I received the email saying it would not be ready. Went to the store to inquire and they seemed puzzled but anyways here we are day two. Apple site still shows order available with yesterdays date but they say it is not ready for pickup. So confused but I tend to have the worst luck with apple in store CS.

I arrived about 20 minutes early for my 3:00 appointment to pick up my iPhone XS Max on the upgrade program. I waited in line for about 20 minutes and started my upgrade purchase process on time. Two extremely helpful people helped me over the one and 1 and 1/2 hour period it took to purchase and set-up my new phone. We lost about 20 minutes while the connection to Apple was lost. I used the time to look at the new watches and to select the leather case for my new phone. As usual, the highlight was the personal help of the Apple team members bolstered by the friendly help they got occasionally by their colleagues. None of us panicked about the system being down. It seemed unremarkable on day one of a launch. I walked out feeling pampered by the people and, of course, the technology.

Back at my office, the setup process was rather smooth and easy. Used the NFC/Bluetooth function of holding the phones close together, pairing them with the camera and then restored from iCloud backup.
I preordered with a 1pm checkin yesterday. At 3am I received the email saying it would not be ready. Went to the store to inquire and they seemed puzzled but anyways here we are day two. Apple site still shows order available with yesterdays date but they say it is not ready for pickup. So confused but I tend to have the worst luck with apple in store CS.
I still have not received my iPhone XS. It didn't even make it into the US from China until last night. Now it's just sitting in Louisville and isn't scheduled for delivery until Monday.
I ordered my iPhone home Xs. It was supposed to arrive on Sept 21. I live in Palo Alto and at 10:30pm. The UPS site said “service upgraded”, the phone has departed Lexington, KY and will arrive on Sept 24...very disappointing
I live in Italy and the only one company that allows you have the esim on apple watches is the worst there is here. than no apple watch for now. and no esim on the XS-Max. is a service that is simply not existing in Italy. like many, many others.
I arrived about 20 minutes early for my 3:00 appointment to pick up my iPhone XS Max on the upgrade program. I waited in line for about 20 minutes and started my upgrade purchase process on time. Two extremely helpful people helped me over the one and 1 and 1/2 hour period it took to purchase and set-up my new phone. We lost about 20 minutes while the connection to Apple was lost. I used the time to look at the new watches and to select the leather case for my new phone. As usual, the highlight was the personal help of the Apple team members bolstered by the friendly help they got occasionally by their colleagues. None of us panicked about the system being down. It seemed unremarkable on day one of a launch. I walked out feeling pampered by the people and, of course, the technology.
I walked right up the T-mobile store right here in Bellevue and purchased one. I think pre-ordering was more of a hassle this time around. But, I don't blame people for being on the safe side. I have the XS Max as a upgrade from the 8 Plus, and I don't regret any of it.
Had to go pick it up @ Fedex distribution hub (purchased through AT&T webpge)
I preordered directly through Verizon. They shipped via FedEx and it arrived by 1 pm.
