A softer flooring would be a benefit...The worst seems to be the hard rock base in many museums and galleries...I have scattered mats that help in often used places...like switching my dust collection hoses between tools...especially table saw and joiner...but I think wood would be amazing...The new products to color concrete look interesting for appearance of course no value on the joints...I do have plywood behind my table saw to accomodate the 220 line on the floor...and that is so nice i give it no thought...maybe I could do the same around a handtool bench...as I do most of my glue ups and finishing on the table saw or outfeed table...

I have a concrete floor but I put rubber mats in front of all the benches and major tools.
