Falcon doors are fine on a small, limited seating sports car, not on an SUV or Model Y. This sized model is more suited for packing skis, bikes and camping gear. Include roof racks for this purpose.

Putting a bike or board on the roof would be awkward. X is a poser SUV. Make it functional with decent clearance, racks and useful accessories. There are a ton of Subaru and Audi owners who love to move over to Tesla.

Falcon doors are flashy but preclude using roof for bikes, canoes surfboards etc all the things one wants for a workhorse SUV. Probably a show stopper for me.

I completely understand why the "wow factor" -- 17" screen, self-presenting door handles, falcon wing doors -- was critical to getting buzz when Tesla was brand new. By now, the whole car is a "wow factor," and most people paying attention get that they're the best cars out there. Just produce an affordable SUV that drives like a Tesla and you'll sell them as fast as you can make them.

Absolutely not!!!
Falcon wing doors hobbled the Model X's ability to carry anything on the roof.
This downgraded the Model X from an SUV to an SV, it completely killed the utility factor.
If they want to offer the falcon wing doors as an option, fine, but only as an option.
Tesla should also offer the Model X without the Falcon wing doors.
I would buy one in a heartbeat, I carry canoes and kayaks on my roof all the time, a vehicle without a roof rack is useless to me

Absolutely no Falcon wing doors!!. Elon PLEASE keep it simple: 1) RWD standard, AWD as an option 2) hartop roof, all glass/sunroof as an option 3) same interior layout as model 3, 60/40 split rear folding seat standard (no need for a 3rd row seat). These would make production a breeze from the get go!!. Looking forward to putting a rooftop tent and going camping in this thing!!
My current vehicle is a Mazda 5, so it's all about sliding doors for me :)

Big NO to the falcon wing doors! 4 doors & a hatchback. Keep it affordable. Keep it simple. But definitely keep the glass roof!! Maybe even some transparent solar panels on top as an option.????????

I live in the Northeast and think the falcon wing doors are really cool, but not practical for my climate. If I lived in CA or the SW the fine. I also would not want to pay a premium for them. Last comment (unrelated) - hope it looks similar to the Macan.

Keep it simple. Customers for the Model Y want an affordable SUV. It is more important to get them to market than add extra features. Demand is there, so don’t worry about falcon wing doors or features that may slow down production.

This is supposed to be an affordable, reliable, mass-marketed vehicle. Avoid delays in development, extra cost, and reliability problems. Really hope they focus on meeting the huge demand for a high-quality, reliable, American-made EV -- at the lowest possible price point.

We've had a Model X loaner several times and those doors just don't work in the midwest, particularly in the winters. They are slower than opening a door yourself, meaning more snow and rain inside the car. Parking anyplace with 7-8' ceiling is a pain, as the doors correctly stop, but then you are stooping deep under partially raised door. Sexy? Yes. Practical? No.
