To model 3 was at the disaster as an example of manufacturing simplification.

Model 3 Base price was set at unveiling prior to knowing customer demand and manufacturing volume. Now they are suggesting a breakthrough at the pack level cost and weight savings. Model 3 base likely coming in below $35000 and Model Y base could be closer to $35000. Model X price was reduced shortly after manufacturing efficiencies were realized as well.
