I just turned 57 and drive approximately 27 weeks a year. It works out great so I will keep driving
    for a good while yet.

Im 53, been driving for 25 years this Jan.19, waiting to become a millionaire in stock market...anticipating summer of '19 earliest. I'll retire when my savings hit 1.2 million. My intentions, never drive again, loss weight, strength n endurance train. eat healthy consistently. Hike every 13k & 14K foot peak in the US. Learn something new...row a boat for distance. Relearn to jog again. Spend time with family doing group activities that "I" enjoy. *it sounds like everything has been favorable* The past 8 years have been the hardest by putting on extra weight, 80lbs...mixed with rotating work schedules that throw a wrench in the front spokes of my bike... i.e. my workout schedule. It seems like i'll be working out regularly maybe 2 or 3 times in a week then have to work a nonsense schedule that makes me too tired to resume working out for week. I believe, it will take 2 years to calm down from when I actually stop driving. To help with that transition, I intend to work my first job as driver trainer at a CDL School, preference to work the yard, walk alongside the student driving a truck on the yard (w/cdl permit holder) learning backing exercises, walk, walk, walk, my crutch to reclaim my life...then make my break...im out.

I retired a year ago at 62. It was a mistake. Dont have enough money so i just sit on my rear all day watching tv. I have decided to get back to truckin either local part time or full time otr/Regional. Some of these drivers still truckin in their 80's is inspiring.

I voted for full time 70 years old. But as long as God gives me good health, I would like to do some part time local work for who knows how many years. I'm not ready for the rocking chair yet! Still love truckin'!

I feel like a KID next to some of you guys. I'm only 76 and was thinking of hanging it up when I hit 80! Started as a bull hauler in '65 and quit that (only shortly) when I thought I didn't have anything left on me that hadn't been kicked or broken. Was going to retire several years ago --- and my wife was 100% behind me (said anything I wanted to do was fine with her. HOWEVER, the two things she said I WOULD NOT be doing is watching TV or on the computer!) Checked the schedule to see when I I could when I could go again.

I got out of the seat a year ago at 46 after 23 years. I am working in safety. It’s sad that drivers can afford to retire by 62. We work twice as many hours as the average person and we can’t afford to get out at an age that we can still have our health so we can enjoy something from all those many hours and miles.

I am 83 and still going, im leaving for Richmond, Va. Sunday night 10-28 18, have a lot of bills to pay and do not want to leave my wife and boys with the burden. I started when i was discharged from Korean war in 1954 and thanks to our Good Lord my Savior i still have my health,I hope and pray that the rest of my fellow drivers will have the good luck I have been blessed with. Good Luck Gentlemen God Bless.
