Had 2 bro n laws for the preachers in my old order setting ...and 1 said he didn't want to have anyrhg too do with my story and the other 1 keep close contact with my husband telling him what was abt to happen on the situation from the church ....praise God !!! HE set me free of that crap !!!!!!!!!!!

A little hard to answer quickly. I was molested as a child. My parents found out and did little. I didn’t tell anyone in church until I was a teenager, and the abuser had left the church by that time. The people in my church did their best to listen and support me as much as they knew, but it was not common knowledge.
I was sexually abused between 9and 19 years old. I was in my 30's when we brought up the topic of abuse to all six men on the bench in a general way. However, none of them got back with us for further information. When we went to the bishop to tell him we were leaving, he did say that he was sorry for what I had experienced. That was 5 years ago. I'm not aware that they are interested in learning about how to handle abuse today.

When you talk assulted between 15 and 18,Does that mean unwanted sexual contact ? I had a male cousin, five years older than me take advantage of me from 13 to 18 .Never knew where to drop In my mental files...Some people count that sexual abuse or maybe assault?It was just mild to me compared to what I was getting my dad at the same time...Or by assault Did you mean the physical beating up? I would have needed to vote for more than one category and it wouldn’t let me do that, and no the church never found out about that but I’m sure I would have been blamed.
I am Mennonite/Anabaptist and was sexually assaulted before age 15; my church never found out till I was an adult.
Initially when the abuse was occurring, the church did not know about it, and as well, I had no idea what was happening was wrong. The abuse was so prevalent, I thought it was " normal"! It occurred from approximately the age of 4 - 14 years of age.
On the other hand, when I was in my early 40's, I started to remember the abuse be and my church was supportive, in that I asked 4 people in whom I trusted to be a support team for me, as my life unraveled with me, while the memories began to present themselves!
I could have answered both the first and second statements, but it was indicative of what age I was.
